Emory… also not hurt

2nd half of clemson the only part of a game that they let him run anything that resembles a modern offense, says otherwise.
Pass attempts in the Pop Tart Bowl:

Cam Ward- 19
Emory Williams- 15

He probably could have thrown the ball 4 more times if he could actually complete a pass and sustain a few drives.

He had 4 less attempts than the best quarterback in the country. Should we have let him throw more? I mean he was at 33% completion percentage.

I'm confused and maybe I'm missing some context since I can't see what the see more shows but nothing in what is shown in that X post implies he is upset that Beck was brought in. Also if he was it would be extremely odd for him to post about it weeks after Beck actually joined the team. If he is upset then he really isn't going to like when Nickel passes him on the depth chart prior to the start of the season.

I was an Emory fan until I saw the second half of the Iowa State game in Orlando Pop Tarts Bowl. I don’t know who was at fault (Emory or Coach Dawson), but I thought Emory would be a lot further along than what I saw.

I didn’t expect Emory to light it up like Cam did in the first half, but I thought Emory would complete at least 50% of his passes and give us at least 1-2 explosive plays. Emory’s teammates love him, and he is a great teammate. However, that second half was not up to a standard that any decent FBS team should expect from its backup

his throwing motion stinks and he has not shown anything that would indicate he can be a starter quality QB

he stepped in against Clemson last year, sure. but the offense was run the ball and throw some screens, thats it

same at FSU, our offense stunk, he had one long catch and run to jacolby.

the offensive gameplan when he is in is just not acceptable. The coaches may have some to blame, but the fact they didnt let him throw against Iowa state shows what they think of him

He did. Coaches didn't do him any favors though.

Cant just throw a guy to the wolves like that.

Also how well is he supposed to play when you run on 1st and 2nd down and put him in obvious passing situations?

Kinda hamstrings him
Agreed! He played like trash but coaches did him no favors. The kid handed the ball off the entire 3rd quarter mixed in with one quick out, screen and square out that Carr slipped and fell that he would have been open.

The gameplan for Emory sucked! If we were going to run it all half just run it. But if you gonna play the kid to see if he can lead your team the next year, then cut him loose. Dont handcuff him with handing it off and then ask him to win the game last two drives in the 4th quarter.

Also, I didn’t see, X, Brown, George, Horton out there to really evaluate him.

Instead he had Ray Ray, Kirk, Jojo, Lofton, Carr, Carmichael, guys that haven’t played consistently all year.

Two things can be true! He played bad and that plan was trash.

Agreed. Looks like a random cryptic young guy post to me

I started to think about it and then was like actually (as long as his family is ok) who cares what it means

At the time we were happy to get him from FSU's backyard. Regardless of his ability or potential, there's never a need to bash the kid.
At the time you were sold fake goods. He was never going to be a real option here. If the Elite 11 competition is ever the main selling point moving forward, I would advise you to ignore the hype.

This isn't 1993. Running up the middle on 1st and 2nd down then expecting him to do anything on 3rd and long is a recipe for failure.
We didn't run on 1st & 2nd down then ask Emory to throw on 3rd & long in the bowl game.
