Emory… also not hurt

He doesn’t have a rocket arm but his touch and anticipation reminds me of Danny Wuerfel. I think it’s pretty obvious who’s the better backup and who’d play if a catastrophe happened.
Very interesting comparison. He has a nice touch and a very catchable ball. Last night, was a confident builder, let’s see if this continues to snowball into next year.

11/12 is not bad at all. On his touchdown it looked like he was told to throw the ball somewhere but couldn't pass up the easy 6. Loved it.

Arch Manning is a poor man's Emory Williams... Glad we brought in 2 QBs ahead of him to let him marinate...
I'm hoping Quinn gets hurt, granted extra eligibility, Sark names him starter, Arch
enters the portal because of Mario's new reputation for getting guys the Heisman and drafted in the first round, then Emory beats him out.

I’m already starting to smell an Arch Manning vs. Cam Ward contest going on. I’m beginning to suspect that it may be decided on the field.

We’re going to do the Jake Garcia 2.0 thing, huh?

I liked how he looked last season and I'm sure he's developed further since then. All good.

BTW, how's your nephew settling in to UM? I recall your report in June was all very favorable. Looking forward to seeing him on the hardwood, playing for Coach L soon enough.
He loves being at UM and thanks for asking. He keeps saying (as does his dad) that it is a very professional environment. For one thing a lot of pros come thru UM to practice which gives our guys the chance to observe how the pros train and prepare.

He also says everyone is very excited about the team and thinks they will be really good. The confidence is high in the program.

Love how everyone has to find comps for him from 2-3 decades ago because nobody has been successful with a statue qb with a weak arm since then. Emory should never enter a season as a starter here.
Such a funny topic when he comes up

You can do two things at once:

1. Like the kid a lot
2. Think we should aim higher in the portal

And to be fair we should always aim higher in the portal no matter what the position

I also compared Cam Ward to Charlie Ward. Do you have a problem with that too since he’s even older than Danny Wuerfel? Maybe I did that ibecause I’m old not because I cant find somebody more up to date to compare him to.

you couldn't go with Randall Cunningham?

If Cam has a long term injury I expect Emory to start in his place. He is clearly the 2nd best QB on this team.

I also expect Emory to be the starter next season. Like Dawson told us last year, Emory is made to play QB.

it will be a different offense, but still a really good one with ol' Emory...
