This logic is terrible. I could name 5 portal QBs that "everyone" wanted that are ***. The solution is better evaluating not ignoring the process altogether. For every Cam Ward a Riley Leonard exists.

Who is it easier to evaluate, a HS QB or Transfer QB? More film at the level you are playing at means you can make a more informed decision. What’s riskier a portal QB who has proven himself to be good and a playmaker or a HS qb? Sure they both may end up being misses, but one is more likely than the other - in general. Obviously a 5star qb talent may actually be less risky than like the 10th best portal QB… but nobody is saying take the 10th best portal qb over a 5star lol.

Also Easy to say just evaluate better, meanwhile billion dollar value NFL teams can’t manage do that well for QBs lol.

Both. Being held hostage by a ****** QB didn't work with Tyler. Portal isn't a surefire solution it's a band aid that you hope stops the bleeding. We were very close to Reese Poffenbarger being the answer at QB. I'd call that fcked.
