Duke paying 8 million to new QB

Don’t know if it’s true or not but 1) hot rumors on mateer was that he was looking for a $4-5m deal and 2) I think Duke could have overpaid and reached to capitalize on this season. Not sure if it’s $8m but I don’t think it’s a big stretch to say it is for 2 seasons.

If it really is $8M, you can almost guarantee its like max $3M this year, then next year option of $5M, and obviously the collective/school can get out of these agreements (or just renegotiate) whenever they want....

Duke paying $8 million to new QB

Attn: Greg Sankey

UNC handing the key$ to Belichick and Duke spending potentially high seven figure dollars on a QB is all the proof we need the ACC's two premier basketball brands are going all-in on joining a Big Boy Conference.

Zero reason to make these moves if your happy in a JV league making JV money while keeping the vast majority of your chips on the hoops table.

No doubt in my mind Mr. SEC Commissioner let certain "targets" know they needed to fully invest in football. No coming to the SEC, hiring a cheap retread, going 2-10 every year and collecting a massive media rights and CFP share as welfare just for being a basketball blueblood.
