Sources: Duke football head coaching search focused on two candidates

All the buzz in coaching circles is that Penn State Defensive Coordinator Manny Diaz is the current favorite, although there is a second candidate who remains in contention according to other sources. If Diaz is ultimately Duke's selection, it would be the second consecutive head coach that King has hired who is an accomplished Defensive Coordinator. Unlike the last head coach, Diaz brings with him years of head coaching experience.

I think he is one of the worst coaches, not merely in current college football or the history of our program, but in all of sport, ever.

On a personal level, I also have every reason to believe that he is morally represensible.

The ******* bull**** narrative that the FIU head coaching job, right after joining Division I and coming off of NCAA sanctions under Don Strock, is even in the same BALLPARK as head coaching jobs at Oregon and Miami.

The dumbasses that want to equate the wins and losses at FIU and put them on the same comparability scale as Mario's performance at Oregon and Miami are MOST DEFINITELY pushing a false "Mario is mediocre" narrative.

What narrative? It's not relevant to your comment that he went 19-42 at **** near a start up program? I get it. People like you just like to run your mouth for the **** of it. I ain't with that so I'm gonna shut up. You got such an issue with the head coach at the school you supposedly follow than don't let the door hit you where the good lord split you. Is Howard Schnellenberger a Hall of Fame coach? No, because he didn't win a HIGH ENOUGH PERCENTAGE of games. Should what he did at FAU be put on the same comparative scale as what he did at Miami? **** NO.

My God Duke was once a great institution academically but this hire shows just how far the mighty have fallen.
