One name that has been associated with the Hurricanes since his name hit the portal last month is Ole Miss’ Tywone Malone. The 6-foot-4, 315-pounder spent time at Ohio State over the weekend and is now expected to get his first look at Miami with an official visit coming on over the weekend Over two seasons and 11 games with the Rebels, Malone totaled 106 snaps with a run defense grade that averages out to a strong 70.1, according to Pro Football Focus. Malone also plays baseball for the Rebels and baseball is thought to be a part of his decision to transfer from the SEC program, but InsideTheU learned last week that the Hurricanes baseball program was not recruiting the New Jersey native. It's unclear if Ohio State will give him the opportunity to play baseball. Miami is also chasing Louisiana Tech transfer Keivie Rose, who is also expected in for an official visit. This spring window, Miami adding a pair of interior defensive linemen in Georgia State's Thomas Gore and Purdue's Branson Deen but neither tip the scales at over 300-pounds and the Hurricanes need to add a bigger body type.
