YES!!! We got a DT! He looks huge at some of the footage I've seen at the BBQ. Last season had 43 tackles, 19 1/2 tackles for loss, 3 forced fumbles, 2 fumbles for recovery and 7 1/2 sacks.

I think Mykah Newton is the next DL to commit cause he was also at practice with Donta

This is a guy I really liked at Under Armour. He looked like a baby in the face and won his reps pretty easily.

Junior film is OK but I think this is betting on the come based on age, growth and offseason performance.
19 tfl and 7.5 sacks as a 15-16 y/o on Var against some of the toughest competition in the nation is an OKAY season?? C’mon maaann!!

So basically a project.. That's fine, not everyone is ready in their first or second year. Wish more young men would see it that way as that position is big boy football and hard work patience will pay dividends down the road. Hope it works out for him as it'll then work out for us..
No that doesn't necessarily mean a project. No more then Anez Cooper was a project. This staff has shown the ability to recognize talent in many cases before it manifests itself for all to see. Butch Davis had this gift. Simpson is a 3 star just beginning to come on. That doesn't make him a project. His senior year will determine that. The staff wanted to get in on this kid before he blew up his senior year and had more suitors after him.

Also, not being ready for first or second year doesn't mean the player was a project. That's the normal learning curve. Especially for a DT.
