2025 Dorian Brew 5* CB from Conroe, TX

Other than maybe Dawson who doesn't seem to be a big recruiter...I don't know who has Texas connections.

Eh….

And I’m not even on the “we are neglecting TX” train because we went balls to the wall for Hicks, Hill, Muhummad and a few more but that shouldn’t be an excuse for arguably the most talent rich state in America. What’s our connection to IL? Make connections damnit, and Mario has been the recruiting coordinator at Bama and been a HC for over 10+ years combined, he has “connections” everywhere.

Id bet it is easier/less involved to walk into a big city in Illinois and steal elite targets than it is Texas.

We don’t have a presence in Southern California and nobody says **** about that lol. Is Texas just different cause it’s closer? Cause legit all the top LA talent is like going to Oregon right now

You asked what our connection to IL is. I was giving an answer for why you’d choose to do that while “ignoring” Texas.

Literally first thing I said was that I’m not on the we are neglecting Texas bandwagon. So, I don’t think we are ignoring them. I just think we should recruit it much harder. I was mainly addressing the “we don’t have connections in TX” point. That’s bullsh*t IMO.

I dont think Mario is just ignoring Texas. He didnt at Oregon. I think how long we havent done **** there makes it hard to get that foot in the door with the elite players. We did get Arroyo from there. I think we maybe trying to establish connections with the younger players then its easier than the past 3 classes.

We went hard after Simmons, Hicks, Muhammad and that FR all american LB that went to Texas. We didnt ignore the state but each cycle is different in terms of needs and where the players with traction are. For us with WRs and CBs its in state this cycle.

To me OU and OSU changed something especially OSU, after Michigan won they changed something in the recruiting game. They land mostly all elite targets
There’s a few people here that have ties to OSU NIL program. I 100% know they paid some of these guys to commit. Both of those two elite DBs they got are holding a place. OSU always recruits amazing so it’s not like they’re buying a class, but it was anarchy inside that program and they bought a lot of guys commitments to ease that hoping that Michigan comes back to earth and they right the ship.

Hope that ship hits a bigger Iceberg than the Titanic.

Amen to that. It’s not good there and they have a major QB problem. Ryan Day is a mediocre at best OC compared to what they expect there.

I don’t want to get my hopes up…but if they struggle this year it’s gonna be glorious
My hopes and prayers are already up. I've never wanted anything to fail more than osu athletics. I'm old enough to remember when that dud Howard, was as good as Ward.

Sometimes I hate myself for knowing people inside OSU but it puts things in perspective sometimes what we accept here. I’ll say if you think the Gameday threads here are miserable, should see OSU fans when they’re struggling. It’s breathtaking…and I need more of it.
