Everyone know AG has to prove it on the field this year, and we know that radio cant touch Al as a coach. You have points though Nights I cant front because this Defense is about coaching from what I see and I thought when Dorito came in he was a beast cause of his mouth. So far I haven't seen anything from this D and hopefully if the D is bad again that AG can let his boy go. I love some AG but your right he gotta prove and and he will this year because we should out talent everyone but FSU and UF no excuses losing to bumbsbut this is a tough job considering the NCAA cloud. Anyone under that cloud even radio should and would get a pass.

The personnel usage and play calling is not why this team hasn't won big yet. That's what you have never understood. The talent and development and at some positions sheer bodies weren't there, and THAT is from your Hero's regime.

In year three, if we aren't at least a 9 win coastal champion, then you can begin to gripe about how the former regime didn't matter.

If you can't see improvement since the Golden hire, you are beyond lost.

Randy left many players on this team undisciplined and lazy, failed to recruit a proper roster ever during his tenure, and failed to recruit at all his final year. The fact that Golden was able to turn McGee, Streeter, D. Johnson into not only contributors, but consistent producers is telling. Not to mention he has had an entire culture change under the cloud of NCAA uncertainty and suspensions. Much of your upperclassman that you would expect to stay bailed because they couldn't cut it with the new culture so the team was left very inexperienced and young on defense.

Has there been some bad loses? Sure. No one likes to get blown out by teams, and no one thinks we should lose to the likes of BC or Virginia. Yet, the teams ceiling for last year by almost every expert was 4 wins (you say that's because everyone on the schedule was overrated but ND played for a national championship, KSU was a top 10 team for most of the year, and FSU was top 15). Your opinion-backed discount of this accomplishment holds no weight.

Look at his leadership accomplishments, too. He surrounded himself with a solid staff (I'll get to coach D in a sec). Fisch is an NFL caliber OC, the nutrition and SC has improved dramatically, Hurlie Brown is one **** of a recruiter at a minimum, and he pulled Coach Coley from FSU. Coach D is suspect. We all know this, and there is a problem on D - whether it be scheme or talent. Still, these are all indications of improvements over the previous regime.

To say that Golden is the same or worse than Randy is baffling, insulting, and ignorant.

Pat4 is right though the roster was terrible an unbalanced but Radios defense was better at this point. That can all change this year, the thing is when complaining comes from nights people will attack because it feels like u been ripping this staff since the first Maryland game. Nights brings up alot of points but udid not do this to Radio and it questions your motive, I was a big Radio supporter until USF and I support AG and this staff but that can change with losses later on but not this year especially with the NCAA cloud. Unless we truly tank and the D has to improve drastically.

You can laugh all you want but when I look at 4-8 Boston college lining up freshman and beating 2-10 Maryland while having only I guy make an nfl team then its pretty obvious which teams has the advantage talent wise. Same with Maryland. Maryland has 1 guy from that 2-10 team who will most likely make an nfl roster. 1. You cry about Miami depth and talent. Ok but teams that beat Miami had it 100% times worse.

Nobody here can say 2-10 Maryland and 4-8 bc had better talent and depth than Miami in 2011. I've done the research already. I can go on but the point has been made.

Luke Keuchly, on that BC team, is ten times better than any player produced from the Randy era. And what do you know, he picked off Jacory "not in the Nfl" Harris about 10 times and won the game for his team.

Both Maryland and BC were better conditioned than us, bc your hero didn't believe in eating breakfast and lifting weights. I don't know about youbut when half the team is not up to a standard collegiate conditioning test, the likelihood is the team isn't going to be good. Maybe if they hung with uncle luke more they wouldn't need to train in the offseason bc the "swagger" would carry them!

The defensive play calling was largely a result of the personnel we had available. The youth and lack of depth greatly limits what a team can do. Could D'Onofrio have been more aggressive? Sure, but we'd have gotten burned anyway. I would have preferred to get burned while being more aggressive, but that's a philosophical difference, and doesn't make him a bad coach. Watch how many times our young defenders were out of position, confused, and unsure of their assignments. Watch the 99 yard touchdown by the Blue Devils. Those happened because of players who didn't yet know how to communicate and work as a team due to lack of experience. That was further exposed by having a D-line that was cobbled together and had little talent, no depth, and poor size. Now coach D' has a lot more to work with. If the defense doesn't show great improvement, THEN the criticisms would be legitimate. Right now they are not.

okay..stupid story...

we suck at our HS..we were soph with some seniors and mostly juniors and about 18 soph..

our coach for 8 years was like 20-60 in that time..we brought in a new coach, same players

way different practices, what was expected we lost our first game 13-6 to a crappy team

that next week sucked..some guys quit some were told to walk..
we had to play our cross town rival that was the past winner for 5 years in 5A in our region..we beat them bad..ran the board played the crappy team in a play off..and curb stomped them...

My point is kids need to win to see how it feels and why do you think teams in the NFL and college change coaches for this reason..

Golden has a plan..just needs some luck and a few guys to step up for a 10+ win year

No it wasn't. It was the result of a coach guessing wrong, not knowing his personel and just flat out being uncomfortbale with what he was doing. Too many examples to name vs k-state, virginia and maryland in 2011 then the same dam thing happening in 2012 JUST DIFFERENT PLAYERS executing it.

And again, if you wanna blame talent and depth then that's on Golden too. Too many examples of other coaches playing freshman/1st year players on defense and not being 116. Don't act like Golden is the first coach in ncaa history to be forced or have to play a bunch of frosh on defense. he's not.

Sure, when you have frosh on the defense you will have mistakes. I'm not saying that but to be 116 bad? plz no dam excuse for that. coaching played a much larger role.

All I see is a guy that has a failed track record in predicting head coaching success.
