It seams like South Florida produces at least one near Elite speed kid every year. thornton, Schwartz, Tutu... I don't follow the HS kids but I'd put money on there being a kid in South Florida that can run 4.3 that should be signed by Miami.
We're going to need to have a Norvell-like portal class
Duane was the fastest??..nah man...he was fast..but definitely not the fastestDuane was the fastest in the mid-90s but there were a good number of 4.4 guys. JG may of been faster prior to his nasty ACL. I believe Duane was around 4.3-4.35 but I'm old enough to not remember exacts. JG was 4.3 prior to the ACL but more likely 4.5 after.
The fastest player on the 94-95 team was Carlos Jones...I'm super close to Nate Brooks...have been since 95.Nate Brooks, Tre Mack, Yatil, JG, Duane... heck Jackson was fast for a bigger RB and ran in the 4.4-4.5 range.
You know got your back, my guy.I see you're doubling down on the Forfeit State slurping. Interesting choice.
On a related note, @djnellz it looks like you were right and I now regret my decision to be merciful a couple weeks back. If you see me showing restraint or pity in the future to someone who doesn't deserve it, please remind me of this post.
Nate and Duane were 2-3 years younger than Carlos…no? Wasnt Duane a freshman in 94-95 and Carlos left that year? The fastest player on the 94-95 team was Carlos Jones...I'm super close to Nate Brooks...have been since 95.
Duane was a freshman in 95. Jones' senior year was 96.Nate and Duane were 2-3 years younger than Carlos…no? Wasnt Duane a freshman in 94-95 and Carlos left that year?
None the less, there were a ton of fast kids on those teams. Sad to think we don’t have any kids under 4.4 right now and not many in the sub 4.5 on D
Nate still rapping? He was funny as **** back then. The fastest player on the 94-95 team was Carlos Jones...I'm super close to Nate Brooks...have been since 95.
Yes...still rapping and has several businesses...his Son is Rapper Lil Dred....Nate still rapping? He was funny as **** back then.
Najeh Davenport was even faster at similar size.James Stewart was 6'2" 235 and ran a 4.4 (I am not joking).
We used to be crazy fast, and it needs to happen again.
Damond Neely was LEGIT SLOW.
Joseph and Damari Brown are interchangeable for me...Gotta land one of the local corners. If we keep everyone we have now, add Damari and Bain, and add some elite WR’s in the portal then I’m happy.
okunlolaThey’ll keep what they have.
We won’t add much more of value from a rankings perspective.
What I THINK Miami a should do is go big (and miss obviously) and hold the rest of the spots for the portal.
I also THINK that the schools graduation rate is going to get hit hard after this season. There will be a lot of non-contributors asked to move on from the program.
Scholarships are renewed every year and at the discretion of the institution. That may have been the top agenda item in the team meeting earlier this weekend.
