2023 Does the Class Hold, Improve, or Drop?

That TD against FSU saved the game...the Punt return against VT was pure sickness.
Almost had 2 punt return tds that game. Hester like return on that td. Leaped from the 5 yard line just insane. One td that wowed me was 2017 against Syracuse how easily he got by the db. Had him beat by at least 5 yards but Rosier underthrew him otherwise they don't have a shot in **** to tackle him at the endzone.

His ability to get open was on another level. Everyone ******* about that muffed punt in 2019 but his hands were legit. I don't think he dropped anything in the 3 years being here.
Yeah sucks the muffed punt really tarnished his memory here. He was the only one to show up for LSU, always seemed to haunt FSU (I also remember him catching a corner route TD when he was limping pretty bad) and some of his punt returns were exciting. I dont recall him dropping much of anything. The only thing that comes to mind was the 3rd and goal against UF with CJ Henderson in coverage. He would likely tell you he catches that 9/10 times. I remember it was like 20-17 with prob 6 or so min in the 4th, decent throw, good coverage but hit him in the hands and he could not bring it in. Baxa misses a 27 yard FG and UF goes down the field in like 3 plays to score a TD and go up 24-20.

Butch and Curtis Johnson would've made him an AA....I have absolutely no doubt...and before anyone comes in with the proverbial "He had an attitude problem"...let me remind them there was a boatload of so-called Attitude problems both dealt with...and cleaned up from 95-2000. Even Santana could be Mopish at times.

Yep that was a tough catch but yea I think he catches that most of the time. Idiots here blaming him for the Florida loss. Momentum changing yes but there were many other plays that contributed to the loss.

He had three bums at QB, Richt and Enos as OC's. Get a halfway decent QB and OC and he's a AA no doubt.

Curtis could handle any attitude...Nobody Loved Santana more than me...My favorite All around weapon in UM History...but Tana...and his brother Sinorice (to a lesser degree) could be handfuls at times.

The game-clinching TD in that same game.

Jeff Thomas didn't have top-end speed. He just was effortless in and out of his cuts which made it hard for defenders to keep up.
AR wasn't a smurf but he would be another I'd put in that category speed and effortless in and out of cuts.

We haven't had a sub 10.5 guy in a LONG time but someone may throw a name out that I forgot.
Look Man....Track Speed & FB Speed are two completely different things. 100 meter Speed is pretty much meaningless in CFB and the NFL. (Hence 40 times at combines) I couldn't care less about track Speed in CFB. I care about Speed on the turf. I saw Al Shipman make the Fastest Canes ever, look so-so at GreenTree in the mid and late 90s in a 40 on turf, with nothing but cleats and shorts on. Even after he left UM to play ball in the Canadian League, he still dusted the likes of Randall Hill...PBuch..Jammi German...Santana...and even Hester (in 2003) at Greentree.

That's Jeff...go watch the video @Mklein13 provided....Proof is in the Pudding....

As I said, he had great speed but he did and still doesn't have the 5th gear. 4.4-4.5 is fast but 4.2s are Elite. We've had a few since 2000: DVD, Tana, Dorsett, Buchanan, TB ... that were at a different level. B Smith ran a 4.45 laser time in HS and I wouldn't say he is Elite.

Maybe JT ran a sub 10.5... I'd love to see those official times.

My favorites were Chris T. Jones, Alfred Shipman, Duane Starks.

Devin H. and Berry are different because I went to school with them.

Edge was under 4.4. Duane Starks was well under but I couldn't give you a number.

So now we are going to go off of the eyeball test. Tell me why Jeff Thomas was almost tripped up by Vi Jones in that video? Jeff was fast but not Al Shipman, PBuch, Santana fast. HE had great football speed because he was QUICK and kept his top speed in and out of breaks. Are you really going to tell me JT was faster than TB and Tana?

I wish JT ran track in high school. East St Louis always did well in track....not sure how they have done in recent years.

Nobody ever ran faster (on turf) than Froggy...who was also a track star. He dusted Tana...PBuch...Kevin Williams...Hester and anyone else on turf. Saw it with my own two eyes. He took everyone's $$$ those days.

Duane was the fastest in the mid-90s but there were a good number of 4.4 guys. JG may of been faster prior to his nasty ACL. I believe Duane was around 4.3-4.35 but I'm old enough to not remember exacts. JG was 4.3 prior to the ACL but more likely 4.5 after.

Nate Brooks, Tre Mack, Yatil, JG, Duane... heck Jackson was fast for a bigger RB and ran in the 4.4-4.5 range.
