Does it bother anyone that Mario was graded the worse new 2022 coach?

Nah, Saban lost to Louisiana Monroe and went 6-6. Mario lost to MTSU and went 5-7, so using the CIS model, Mario actually had a BETTER year 1 than Nick Saban/Alabama. The media just hates us. 🍌

AMIRITE?

What you see with MC is what you get. He will not change. He did not change in the four seasons at Oregon so why would he change at Miami? If you obtain serviceable to excellent players then you will have some good winning seasons with him, but that is how it is will every coach and team. His bullheadedness cost Oregon some games. Good luck to the Hurricanes. It would be good to have you back in stride.

At some point, if losing or otherwise meh seasons pile up, any HCs recruiting "draw" is gonna suffer. My guess is he's got maybe two more seasons to turn this around as far as his reputation and future recruiting capability goes. If that hasn't happened by the end of 2024, no recruit is gonna recall or care what he once did at Oregon.

As far as job security, that's a whole different story. Don't care how many planes with banners might fly, he's here for the rest of the decade (unless he would be the one to call it a day).
The crowd that thinks he’s going to be able to recruit at an elite level even if he continues to suck every year live in fantasy land. No coach has ever done that.

I doubt Mario really changes his ways
He is what he is
Just have to hope he can out recruit all his deficiencies

How you start is not always how you finish. Look at the people who preceded them. He inherited the most indisciplined and out of whack roster. Mario is one guy even though he the HC, but Addae, Strong, and others didnt become bums overnight. He needed major surgery but its hard to tell that when we finished on a 5-1 finish to the previous season. Justin Fuente would have gotten an A from his first year as well. What happens when your players and system take over? Ask Manny Diaz. Riley ripped the whole thing up, and probably what we should have done, everyone else inherited programs from established coaches.

Charge this season to the game.

Everything bad thing that happens going forward is all on CMC.

No more excuses!

Those players were horrible...I mean absolute stinker of a roster. You can't turn water into wine. Play of the year for me was Stephenson muffing the punt against a&m, terrible play and as an upperclassmen he should know better. Where is his football iq?

I think OP got Mario moving, coincidence Gattis was fired just a couple days later?!?!?!?! Put some respekt on his name! Lol

I'd feel better if Gattis was gone and losing McClain to primo after sending everyone to an empty Lakeland is rather lame. Big time coach embarrassed by a kid is disturbing. Hard to think 2023 will be much better, especially after all the preseason hype last year. I know, if only Chaney or Nelson had been healthy 2022 would've been different, sigh! We are down to 3 QB's now, what if TVD isn't 100 percent? Help me out here with some reason to be optimistic???? Or is it wait another year or two? Elko at Duke gets an A, Kelly and A+, Freeman at ND a B, Maybe we should've promoted Lashlee as he is a B, Dykes A+, Riley A+, and the lowest and only D is Mario.
