Does Cam Ward go into your top-35 greatest Hurricane of all time?

He would get a different place in my lists depending on what the criteria was.

It's also very hard to make any list comparing completely different eras which involve a lot of different playing styles. We've had some **** good QB's, nevermind all of the positions.

The ones who won titles, …. ****… even the ones that didn’t come close to a title, didn’t have to depend on THIS kind of defense! If our defense this year was just ok… we’re in the playoffs. Maybe stills playing. No QB in Cane History had to deal with absolute **** on the defensive side of the ball. Cam did, and won 10 games. This **** was horrible!
 
Top 5 isn’t a stretch at all. Unless you wanna hold him only being here one year against him. Which IMO is valid.

Greatest season a QB has ever had here. Hard to remember a single player that meant as much to a team wins and losses wise as Cam.

I know y’all will spam this with HOFers, but you’d be wrong. QB is the most important position on the field. No defensive player or RB or WR or OL meant as much to their team as Cam did this year.

accomplished, legacy-defining...no, he spent one year here. didnt end up with anything besides the qb award
valuable, talented, memorable...easily. might be 20 years before we get another cam ward

I'm glad he came here. He had an incredible season and is the reason we won 10 games. I'm having a hard time with the way he ended his career in the bowl game. A real Cane plays the second half and beats ISU.

Feels like a totally random number to say top 35 of all time but he'd now in the Mt. Rushmore of Canes Qb's with Jim Kelly, Bernie Kosar, Vinny T, and now Cam Ward. Cam pushes out Toretta & Dorsey for me.

Top 35 lmfao this fanbase. We just watched as elite as QB play gets on a team that was otherwise 6-6 without him. 2001 Canes has some legends but on that team had dozens of other elite players. This roster had Cam a few very good role players and a coaching staff full of absolute mid bull****. He’s a top 10 Cane easily.

Cam was great, there is no doubt about that. But I always see the 5-6-7 wins thrown out without Cam on the roster. So the only comparison would be if Cam was here or if we went with a R/S freshman who ain’t great as our QB? Nothing in between? What would our record be if we had portaled someone like McCord or Howard at QB?

We had a top 5 OL (actually made worse by Cam holding the ball for 5+ seconds at times), a very good receiving corps, a top RB room, and still very underutilized TEs. I’d argue if you plug in any of the other top 5-10 transfer QBs we win 10+ games and they throw for 3500 yards with similar TDs. Cam left a lot on the field at times looking for the home run when a check down was there.
