2024 DL Kamarion Franklin 2.0 (commits to Ole Miss)

Always funny when people get mad at other posters who are voicing their disappointment with results after what has been barked for the last 6 months about the best DL class in America. If you have anything to say about it you are a dumb ****** fan lol. You are just supposed to accept it I guess and remember its a long way until December! Same goes for the commitments then, if that’s the case and we can’t get upset about our lack of wins on the trail after what was hyped up all spring/summer, then we can’t get overly excited about what we have either since it’s a long way til December lol. Such a joke, let fans cope and complain about what they want to complain about ESPECIALLY when it’s warranted. It’s a ******* message board, if you have an issue with it, block em/ignore em…but don’t ***** about other people not being happy about what we are seeing, foh.
Yeah, regardless of the reasons things have gone as they have, it’s understandable that people are going to be upset after that expectation was put out there to and/or through multiple channels. I’m pretty disappointed about it myself. I don’t care for some of the posts but the underlying disappointment for fans is understandable.

I respect your information.... But if we really are a top 10 NIL program, when are we going to start acting like it???
What do you suggest? You aren't going to get every kid you recruit. @Cribby said it pretty plainly earlier in this thread. Money may not be everything to every kid. It's been said on this board numerous times that we've gotten kids with less than the highest NIL deal AND we've been beaten for kids when we had the biggest number. Every situation is different.

At least we are in the game with these big time guys. We wouldn't have even been at the table two years ago..

I can agree to that. I also would like to know how the other top 9 NIL programs are recruiting at this moment before I make any further points.

Are you including bags? I'm assuming that is still rampant especially with Clemson, SEC and OSU.

The thing is certain SEC schools know how to leverage their network to be proactive and take care of things so the coaches and school don't have to be involved. IMO the "bag angle" is not about resources here in South Florida. Mario knows what time it is.

For sure man, it's hard to say and all hypothetical all the same.

I don't blame a guy for staying local or at least the same state.

Who can own recruiting though, that's a tough call today. There's three components these days that out distance the others IMO.

NIL
Winning
NFL Producing

Then I'd say relationships and distance quite a bit behind. Of course every kid is different, but the world's smaller and you can see every game on television. Distance used to be massive, but times change.

I think Lane can win anywhere, how much is the question. Give him a top tier NIL program, he'll out coach most. That would lead to wins which then mean NFL draftees.

Man recruiting is fluid as **** anymore and not just kids coming into college, but those already on it. There is no question, roster retention and management has never been tougher.
I just won’t believe this class will be poor. I truly feel the talent is better and deeper for Miami to win 8 games and have a shot to win a bowl game. And I just have to see on signing day this staff get whooped in recruiting without ending up in the top 12ish.

On a bad year if we are able to land a top 12 class then rebound in 25 with a top 7 or 8 I think everyone would be at ease. But who knows. Also for the star whores, our 3 star kids have shown out well so far. Cooper looks like a player. Love what I saw from Moton this spring. And as I said, there’s like 2-3 kids in this class the board seems truly upset about.

We’ve got insiders attacking fans for having expectations…

I’m just annoyed that we can’t close on any too Dline targets… I know we have NIL money but these dudes for whatever reason can’t seem to close.
D line like what? Inside? Because the two edges are not big time? It’s inside DT recruiting that’s been the issue. Jones needs help and he needs to be inked.

As long as we stop getting embarrassed I'm fine. No more Dukes, FIUs, MTSUs, etc. I'm fine with '23 8-5, then '24 9-4, then '25 9-4, then '26 11-3, then '27 9-4, then compete.
A couple of those 9-4’s. Should have us in the 12 team playoff in those years.

This is a good post here. I think the only difference that I want you to consider in all this is that last year was Year 1 for NIL and we were prepared for it with Ruiz who was hungry. Many other schools weren’t as organized and prepared, some of whom were pushing bags first. We beat those guys. Fast forward to this year and everyone has organized NIL with capabilities so in a sense the NIL - while necessary - has become a wash if it’s available from each school. So it’s like it was before NIL on some of these top recruitments. Bags up front, SEC vs ACC, track record…etc…
I know it’s happening in some of the top recruitments with some schools. I really have no answer for it because money matters. I think we need to start winning to at least be taken seriously as well as to be able to more ably reel in Plan B’s who in a number of instances should probably be Plan A’s.

It’s all coming back on us now. Last year really damaged us. It’s beyond depressing. Pray for Dawson and Guidry.

MARIO LITERALLY HAS TO TAKE HIS HANDS OFF THE OFFENSE. YOUR REPUTATION AS AN QB KILLER AND PREHISTORIC OFFENSE. WILL BE USED AGAINST U IN A COURT OF RECRUITING LAW.

I dont know or dont care.
You dont need to do that sh*t coming off of 5-7 and recruiting kids from places that are long shots to land.
I love the 3 dl commitments...but i never was on this epic dl class gig that ALLL the miami media members were on. Every UM Social media i intake stated this including this site.
Precisely and they kept coming back and baiting the gullible fans on this site that we were going to have "epic months" multiple times.

But I guess everybody on this site are the suckers because Dmoney is getting what he wants out of this, clicks. You notice how he hasn't addressed how wrong he's been this cycle?

We wouldn't be in this position if they were modest and reasonable but no, all we heard was "big game hunting", "whales", and "Greatest Dline class of all time" and many gullible posters ate that **** up. It's starting to look like a total con job for clicks.

It will be interesting to see how it plays out. LSU had 4 in season losses and finished at 16. I also have a feeling they will be trying to get as many BIG 10 and SEC schools in the playoffs as they can when that starts.

Lol 8 million dollars a year and the best you're hoping for is 9-4 🤣

Holy ****, beyond the acceptance phase

I was responding to a post where someone was predicting our record. Over the next couple years. During that time the CFP will have expanded and I see 9-4. Getting is into the playoffs. **** the GIANTS were a 9-7 SB team. WHO gives a RATS *** about the record. If we make the playoffs.

How many five stars have officially visited in the 1.5 years of Marion’s tenure? Gotta Be over 10.

Do not think Manny had a single five star OV (James and LT would’ve but no OV’s that year, I know) and Richt had Lingard, Surtain, and Campbell. Anybody else?

If you’re not first, you’re last, famous and TRUE words from Ricky Bobby, BUT Mario has IT like no other as a recruiting HC.

Even 8 wins per year has us in exceptional place to add more and more talent.

To the point, 8 wins will almost be impossible to slide to.

Upward and onward.

Amen brother. If the staff wasn’t preaching whales and allll the indsiders hyping the best DL class in the nation. There’s be less reason to be upset but the expectations were set extremely high. It sounded like 2-3 5 star DL guys was happening. We had the #1 DE “as our #1 on the board target and mario doesn’t miss on his top target”, simmons fam loves JT, we lead for Scott, Franklin has visited 5 times. And it’s miss after miss after miss. People have a right to be mad and frustrated.
