well see how it all ends up in december in terms of DL recruiting, but if it is really only lightfoot, someone has to get moved (and we know it won't be JT)

Mario is getting absolutely schooled. I hope he uses this cycle as a learning opportunity and changes his approach, but the fact that they keep losing guys they thought they were getting is disturbing. It’s like the staff is somewhat delusional and doesn’t understand the current recruiting environment.

Big whiff if he picks AU because he should have been in the bag already. We had every opportunity in the world to end this recruitment and never did.

But I don't see him as a true DT. Reminds me a lot of Shemar. Big body kid that wants to stick on the end and play in more of a 3 down front sort of 4i type defender. He does fit better in Auburn's system than ours

I know it's probably likely for me to be disappointed again here but the real misses will be Stone, Breland, and Jones if he's actually going to flip. Those guys fit in our system much better.
This recruitment seemed spearheaded by JT as Franklin does indicate the ability to play inside and out, but will probably end up playing more inside as he puts on weight. I kind of felt like he would do well in Guidry's system as he likes moving guys around on the line, but you know more about the ins and outs of body types and where they belong in certain systems...and thus will defer that to you.

As for recruiting...

I just don't see how we're supposed to have any confidence regarding out-bagging A&M for Breland and OU for Stone. Call me a cynic but there's no proof of us doing that this year. It was all good just four months ago, but since then...

- Recruiting teetering on the edge of a class in the 20's, despite consistent and, at times...forced reassurance that we're going to land a Top 5 class (or something elite)
- Legitimate questions surrounding our financial commitment regarding high-school recruiting; how much of it (with H.S. kids) was Ruiz?
- Both rivals soaring into the Top 5 in recruiting
- Uncertainty surrounding our position in the ever-changing landscape of Conference Re-Alignment, with no reassuring message from the school.

One nut-punch after another in a relatively quick timespan, with some hopium sprinkled in via the commitments of Riley, Lightfoot and the quick duo of Jones + Trader. There is ZERO Positive momentum with this program right now. Luckily the past 20 years have made me numb to seeing this rapid change, so I'm not too surprised anymore.

I just thought it would be different this time around, but shame on me. I hope I'm proved wrong when we win 10 games and finish with a Top 12 class, but right now we're much closer to a disaster than anything remotely positive.

No doubt he could carve out a nice role on our team and be used effectively in Guidry's defense.

I should have clarified that it seems apparent he's sold on playing on the end there and never having to play "inside". Being a pure 4, 4i, 5 tech depending on the front. Lining up in/out/over offensive tackles. Here, he'd be used as a 3tech pretty often matched up on guards. Auburn's defense is more favorable to that and more willing to go big on the end to hold up in the trenches versus us more willing to go small on the edge to get up field and create havoc. That's my $.02 with seeing who/how we're recruiting and my understanding of his defense. Could change my tune once I see what they actually do on gamedays here. For instance, Marshall was very small up front and did a lot of damage with really light weight kids on the edge. Could just be the personnel he had at the time and not his preference.

He can do it but if he's not willing to or doesn't really want to, he'll get destroyed inside without that will/want to play the position.

Big Brain Hopeful Moment- We miss on Kam but the Prize at the end of the 30 days is David Stone and Jayden Jackson. We have been told good news is coming in 30 days which fits the timeline. Flo also mentioned we may flip someone from OU. IF Stone Jumps on Board we get a 2 for in in Stone and Jackson flips to us.

The key would be getting Zaquan and someone else to pop in between to get Artavius to stick around until we land stone. Sorry is this is copium but just my guess
It’s gonna be Zaquan, who is awesome and needed X100, love his game… But the jig is up. These force a lean to commit once we miss 5 other priority targets don’t hit the same after we peep game.

Here’s to hoping Stone, Franklin & Patterson are all canes, because that’s what’s needed right now.

What makes you say he should have been in the bag already? Did he want to commit and we told him to hold off until he was sure or something like that?

You may be getting schooled that 5-7 teams with a nearly two decade history of poor performance are not going to win a lot of top recruiting battles.

No need to speculate why we haven’t been successful. Stringing back to back top 10 classes to compete with the best.
Last time Miami had back to back top 10 classes was 2004/2005… Coincidence? No

Shannon had 5th class (#1 on espn) in 2008.
2009? 15th

Golden had the 10th class in 2012.
2013? 15th

Richt had 8th class in 2018.
2019? 17th

Mario had 8th class in 2023.
2024? Looking consistent.
Shannon's 08 class had absolutely no business in the Top 5-7....let alone #1.

Yea I agree its going to be Zaquan but D Money said we would move up in the rankings and Cribby yesterday said we would string a couple of commitments. Hoping its Zaquan, Stone and Jackson.
