2025 DJ Pickett 5* CB from Zephyrhills Commits to LSU

If we get him yall gon say it was against his dads word lol? Usually when a parent is this vocal its because he doesn’t trust his kid enough and is protecting him from coaches and media

Cormani mom did the same with him..no im not saying they are similar just saying an example of why a parent might be leading a recruitment in the media. He’s guiding his kid to what he thinks is right. He is his dad so if he feels thats what is necessary i don’t see how anyone can hate on that
this. his parents are the only one whos gonna care about him once he signs. no one else (not a fan) will give a single ****. if he trusts Raymond to develop him and get him to the NFL, so be it. i dont blame him w Guidry being a **** safety coach (if hes there) and Chevis being pretty green as a p4 DBC.

Definitely not as much or more than anyone.

Landing DJ is going to require some level of wanting to be at Miami. If it’s all money there’s not a chance we land him.
i dont understand how some posters (and insiders) say we have all this money but then others saying we dont have enough to outbid for elite level prospects?

Pickett Sr. told On3 that they have been monitoring OJ's development on the field this season. So far have been impressed.
Seeing Frederique not only play early but also thrive in the Hurricanes secondary has been a plus for the Canes.

“We’ve watched him and been very impressed with him,” Pickett Sr. said. “Seeing him get on the field is a plus for Miami. I’ve been very impressed with him.”

“Development, development, development,” Pickett Sr. said. “That’s our biggest thing. Developing him as a football player and as a young man. Just developing my son into the best young man he can be. We want him happy, but at the end of the day, we want him to develop into a great football player. And a great young man. Someone who can be of value to the community as a leader. We’re looking for someone to help develop my son.”

The family has had a close eye on the play of Miami’s secondary this season under first-year cornerback coach Chevis Jackson, who won a national championship at LSU in 2007. Since arriving in Miami, Jackson has built a strong connection with not only DJ but his father as well.

“He has a plan for my son,” Pickett said. “Just like LSU, Georgia, Florida, Florida State, Oregon, Michigan, and Georgia do. He has a plan, and we’ve been listening.”

He wants his son to be around leaders and build his character so he sending him to play for a coach that killed a kid?

Make it make sense.

I don't blame him for wanting his son to play for Raymond.

But anybody can see Raymond most likely won't be there for more than one more season (even Raymond can't guarantee that). Even all the other recruits are jumping ship. So DJ goes there for his freshman year to get developed and then gets an entire new coaching staff for his 2nd year.

Mario will most likely be here for the kid's entire college career.

I guess kids can always transfer but things don't always work out in your favor once you start hitting the portal as an UNPROVEN college player.

He has more choices now than he would as a portal player who hasn't proven it on the field.

Not sure sending him to play at LSU for Brian Kelly who got a kid killed for practice film is the person you want developing him as a young man.

One of these things is not like the other (FSU). And he named UGA twice? ... 7 teams at this point screams shark tank to me.
