If UF lands Hanks and Pickett, that is no bueno. Guidrys terrible defense for most of the season and increased the “suck tax.” Billy didn’t suddenly turn into a super recruiter, UF has just given him an enormous NIL budget this year. Last couple years they were getting overdraft fees they were so broke. UF going to buy themselves an elite recruiting class.

Them Not having to worry about paying top dollar for a QB transfer is a huge luxury. We still need to put that into our budget, so we are at a major disadvantage. That’s the downside to relying on portal QBs. They eat up a lot of the budget.
I said them and fsu have money all that they don’t have money is cap and cope

If we get him yall gon say it was against his dads word lol? Usually when a parent is this vocal its because he doesn’t trust his kid enough and is protecting him from coaches and media

Cormani mom did the same with him..no im not saying they are similar just saying an example of why a parent might be leading a recruitment in the media. He’s guiding his kid to what he thinks is right. He is his dad so if he feels thats what is necessary i don’t see how anyone can hate on that

make him an offer he and his pops can’t refuse.
It’s always weird when a dad does the interviews for the recruit

I remember a guy named Aaron Brown OT that signed with VT, back in like 2005, his dad did EVERY single interview with all the services. The kid flamed out. No surprise . The dad was ALL about himself

Something stinks in the recruitment of a few guys we're trying to flip.

On the field we're a runaway train right now - 10-1, 1 win from the ACC CG and the Playoffs and our destiny in our own hands. We've barely tapped in to the back-to-back Top 10 classes we've pulled in either.

Yet we're going to the wire with a load of players with freakin' Florida and LSU. It has to be money.
SEC narrative is very real not only in the media but with many High School kids. You can say it's BS and overrated but it's real.

Definitely not as much or more than anyone.

Landing DJ is going to require some level of wanting to be at Miami. If it’s all money there’s not a chance we land him.
Collectives have caught up with us or passed us. Plus I would rather see the big money spent on some big elite DTs make them say no but of course would love to have Pickett

Pickett Sr. told On3 that they have been monitoring OJ's development on the field this season. So far have been impressed.
Seeing Frederique not only play early but also thrive in the Hurricanes secondary has been a plus for the Canes.

“We’ve watched him and been very impressed with him,” Pickett Sr. said. “Seeing him get on the field is a plus for Miami. I’ve been very impressed with him.”

“Development, development, development,” Pickett Sr. said. “That’s our biggest thing. Developing him as a football player and as a young man. Just developing my son into the best young man he can be. We want him happy, but at the end of the day, we want him to develop into a great football player. And a great young man. Someone who can be of value to the community as a leader. We’re looking for someone to help develop my son.”

The family has had a close eye on the play of Miami’s secondary this season under first-year cornerback coach Chevis Jackson, who won a national championship at LSU in 2007. Since arriving in Miami, Jackson has built a strong connection with not only DJ but his father as well.

“He has a plan for my son,” Pickett said. “Just like LSU, Georgia, Florida, Florida State, Oregon, Michigan, and Georgia do. He has a plan, and we’ve been listening.”
