Our bagmen must not offer that much, because at a certain point it's become extremely alarming that every top commit we get immediately starts looking elsewhere after they commit to us.

This staff just needs to cut the **** & start being real, either pay like you weigh & or "starve"... That's how it is in crootin'.

How the f*ck can UW get this kid on ONE visit & all of the sudden turn into this huge issue this staff can't overcome?

We been recruiting this kid for **** near a ****in year, all it took UW was a couple days & they're on verge of flipping one of our top 5 recruits... Smfh
Sadly enough, I've heard this is often the case. There are a bunch of guys on our team that have gotten paid. But other schools pay more for better players.

Ole Nevin was telling the truth on that one.................

How do we know how far back his relationship there goes or how serious we should be towards it? Also in my own opinion you gotta look at how one place may relate more than another. In this instance he's from a real lame city in Sacramento (no insult meant) & Seattle or the state of Washington relates well to a kid like that compared to a city like miami.. just saying there's alot of intangibles
Back in June, when he spoke to Pete on a podcast, his top teams were Miami, ASU, Bama, ND, UCLA & USC...
He had a special affinity for Adidas schools in particular & even though Bama, ND & USC aren't Adidas there was still interest.

I agree with what you're saying overall & I'm not bashing DJ, I'm ****ed at the staff for not keeping a stronghold on our kids...

It's not just this DJ situation & I'm not even saying he's going to flip, because I actually think we'll keep him, my issue is that this staff imo is just lacking something... Either we're not aggressive enough or we're just not hitting home with a lot of these top recruits.

I'm willing to give them time til NSD to see how everything plays out, It just doesn't make sense that we have so much trouble landing these kids & keeping them...

I'm not new to recruiting, been following it for a very long time & understand how it works, I'm just tired of always coming up short when it counts the most... I'm not saying that's happening now, I'm just saying there's always a million excuses as to why kids aren't coming or decommitting.

We're missing that hammer in the recruiting game. A guy like Garner, Craig, Orgeron. Where's that guy on our staff?

The important thing is the number of participation trophies the staff will get for being in the mix for guys like this, Holloman, and Smith. There is a lot of pride in being number two for so many good players we weren't even top 5 for before.

Y'all mfs crazy, sh*t will play its self out. If he comes that's great, if he doesn't that's fine too... regardless Ima be watching my canes play great defense next year either way...

Oh and if you see that kid's twitter....he's been following a lot of UW players as well. If you don't think that's a signal of something coming, I don't know what to tell you. This is far from over.

This worries you but the kid openly posting that he's flipping to Washington on social media didn't ring the bell first?

Ever since he took his OV to UW I've been watching this. At no point did I say this was solid. But the fact that his last 50 follows are UW players and coaches is telling.

He can say he's solid all he wants and criticize UM fans for questioning it. But his actions speak louder right now.

On the flip side, I am fairly confident with Richt and Coach Kool if/when they get an in-home with this kid. But to say there's nothing here is asinine.

That's the best way to view recruiting, that's why I think Henderson is more in play than most think. He keeps visiting and handing around the program even though he's dc.

As for DJ, its the opposite. Everything points to Washington

Sad thing is the guys proud of participation awards are in for another L when we don't even finish 2nd for those guys.

Everyone had us battling Alabama for Jeudy, but it turned out we were an afterthought. Well, at least he took the time to come to Paradise Camp and laugh with his faqg buddy who was mocking UM. Last year's staff never would have gotten him on campus to mock us.

No sure if sarcasm!

Yeah, the old staff never would let kids play us. Look at what they did to Matthew Thomas, they recruited him hard all the year, begging him to come on a mid-week visit, didn't offer other good LBs because of him, to not even finishing 2nd and building so little depth that we were forced to start 3 trues freshmans this season.

We don't need any of those guys. We got Rumph! He refuses to take yes for an answer.

Several things here. #1 & it's something that always bothers me. How do you propose this staff could lock down these kids? How does that work exactly? What can 1 coach do any different from another if you're simply following the rules & all schools are on the level? Some of the coaches want us to switch to a more aggressive stance where if you commit to us no more visits anywhere else. Problem with that leads into our main problem which our fans simply aren't ready to acknowledge cause it answers all other questions. The only schools that are able to tell kids no more visits are the schools that ARE ELITE RIGHT NOW... #2 due to my involvement with my nephews recruitment I've been forced to realize the majority of elite recruits simply don't consider us a legitimate choice. They don't see us as a force in football. They see us now as on our way back. But if you acknowledge were sortve an afterthought than you have to know results on the field is critical to our success. How can you be mad at a kid who made a verbal commitment which is a spur of the moment emotional decision when he starts to question if it was right? That's the human brain at work yall. All people at some point simply question themselves. Ask UknowWhat if that's the 100% raw truth for you. His son is elite. I guarantee you if not for how well he was raised & his father's love for us as well Shaq may have moved on too. We're seeing progress in recruiting. A tremendous amount. It's just not fast enough for an impulsive uninformed fan base.

So chise since you know that's what we're missing what makes them a hammer? I'm curious cause I've known ed o **** near since I was born. Please help me understand what we're missing... by the way what you're trying to say is completely wrong. It's just people relate in different ways. Dugans is a better recruiter than any of the people you mentioned & so is richt. He just is straight up & always applies his morals.

What should our coaches do? Sell better. Recruiting is sales, and you know **** well some salesmen are better than others. If everyone was the same then everyone would get pretty much the same results in recruiting.

There's a reason some of these bigtime recruiters are so highly sought after and get giant paychecks when they can't coach their way out of a wet paper bag.
