DJ Ivey impressing

A redemption story like Ivey's is only known in the inner-most fan circles of college football teams. Because only we know what the player had to go through to get to where he is now.

This kid would have transferred in two seconds in the current state to a team that embraced him.

For better or for worse, this kid getting railed by our fanbase may have made him who he his today. A 2nd year pro who is exceling in big slot coverage a year off an ACL tear.

His story is actually crazy.

Would he have transferred though? Coaches loved him. He was all Cane. We fans were just a bunch of ********. But most fans are. You think he would have had it any better in Columbus or Gainesville, for example?

Most people on this board three to five years ago wouldn’t have expected him to make a final 53 yet alone make plays following an ACL recovery.

No doubt. But most people also agreed he was an athletic specimen, just couldn't process plays correctly. IIRC, he rarely turned his head around, as well, which always drives fans nuts.

We're doing the same thing to Jaden Harris right now. Will be interesting to see how that turns out.

Agreed. I include myself in not expecting Ivey to be his current NFL trajectory.

I feel like Harris doesn’t have the strength and wingspan of Ivey, although he can probably post a better 3 cone drill time. Not sure what Harris’ track numbers were but DJ’s 4.46 40 would be tuff to beat.

Ivey stuck to some guys like glue in a way that I haven’t seen from Harris, although they both have shown similarly bad anticipation.

If Xavier Lucas transfers here and our current DBs don’t leave, Harris will feel more pressure to elevate his game to keep his job. Zaquan Patterson is knocking on his door.

Nothing wrong with that, more so just pointing out his NFL career is successful already. Even if he doesn’t have Sam Shields type of success.

Just want our guys to get to five credited seasons to get long term benefits from the NFL.
Yea I hope he gets it man

Nah. Jaden Harris and DJ have completely different problems Number one Jaden Harris being a safety is responsible for reads more than anything well a cornerback is responsible for coverage maybe that doesn't make sense but they're too completely separate things. Some people tried to explain on a regular basis the things that were happening with DJ often were highlighted because of the safeties blowing assignments. Not to make excuses again for him now, because like I said at the time he also had his own issues due to his confidence mainly and questioning himself. But the safeties did him no justice. Communication has been our ssue for the longest.

Jaden Harris has already lost his job

They need to slap a 37 or a 43 jersey on Jaden Harris. Single digits have meaning.
