The only time people focus on Saban and about us not being able to stop him are when he takes his 1 recruit a year out of 50.
People don't remember him flying his ******* helicopter to Palm Beach and dropping bags on the field for Gurvan Hall, or him telling Pope he was the next south Florida WR to go to Bama, or pursuing Lingard early in the process only for him to pick us. He tried to get Blades on campus, tried to get Frierson on campus, tried to get Brevin Jordan etc.
He'll get 1 or 2 a year that are blind enough and have a peanut for a brain and are influenced by 20 grand. The kids that come to Miami see millions. They see the best player in the NFL right now (Calais Campbell) is from Miami. Artie Burns second contract is gonna be huge, Adrain Colbert is quickly becoming one of the best rookies in the league, Gore is churning out more yards (at 35!) than Derrick Henry and nearly as many as Ingram. Same for Lamar miller on a dog **** team.
For the players we've actually wanted head to head vs Saban, we've done better than nearly any other school. You have the Jobe/Henderson/Byrd types every year. We'll see the same thing next year.. we just don't know who it'll be.
The kids that you know are very smart and bright, like Sanguinetti, won't even give the time of day to Alabama. Because they see through the bs. Hard to expect anything more out of a 20 year old struggling to graduate high school. I'm not gonna get into Jeudy, it was too little too late. Ridley, I can't blame him for leaving. But a kid that is committed for 2-3 years and does this after us going 10-2... **** no.
