How much jet fuel are we going to waste on this fool?
It's astounding how many of you hardasses think just bailing on a kid who's conflicted is the way to go. Your heads would spin if you how many former Canes, including greats and Hall of fame types had to be last-second, begged, cajoled, guilted, hard-pressed, and otherwise just needed the kitchen sink thrown at to ultimately sign with UM. That's f-n recruiting. That's why if you have a chance to hold on to a talent like Jobe, you spend the god **** jet fuel. It's actually really laughable, because you same tough guys who want to bail on a kid who we have to really work for and isn't a lock, also in the same breath **** and moan about losing out on the top talent and not recruiting them hard enough.
I love how 49 of you morons up-voted this. I'm sorry, but some of you just can't emotionally handle recruiting. Don't know why you bother following it.
He isn’t conflicted. He’s playing Miami.
This. Tweed said a while back that he didn't see Jobe signing with Miami (who's nephew is the ambassador of the class). Some of us saw his constant flirtation with Bama back in the Spring and saw the tea leaves early on. The constant that we heard from Pete and others is that we had to do two things:
1) Have a good winning season showing Miami is making progress
2) Keep recruiting him
Miami's lived up to both, yet this kid's ready to flip at any moment (Pete reported that his decommitment could come last week and that he has been ignoring coaches from Miami when they attempted to reach him). Jobe was never going to come to Miami. He didn't see Miami having the season they had along with the improvement shown. If we had an 8-win season, he had a ready made excuse - Miami's crap. But we were the nationally relevant team that everyone talked about. He didn't have the same built-in excuse like the Ridley's, the Cook's, the Jeudy's, etc.. He's leaving the home team when we're on the rise.
People can come out on their soap box and act like they're hard. This has nothing to do with whining about a certain recruit - it's about taking off the homer glasses and paying attention to the actions and developments of what's going on.
