Devante Bond grades

Coley is by far the best prospect in this class. Kid is game ready yesterday.

AQM needs a year in the weight room before he can make a big impact. Look at Tyriq McCord.

Burns is a close second to Coley.

I actually think Grace is the 3rd best prospect. I expect him to have a huge impact this year.

I think AQM would give us an impact before Coley. That's a product of our depth chart.

I've long said I think Burns is the most talented player in the class.

Grace, ironically, is my favorite. He's my favorite player we've recruited because he's the guy I'd pick if I'm building a team. I CAN WIN WITH THIS GUY.

Personally, I'm just not as high on Bond as others are. Even if he gets in, I don't think he's going to do much.

I heard he should good to go by next week. I hope so. AQM is going to be a star at Miami.

Bond had more sacks last year himself that our teams has had in two years...he gets to the ball....dont give me that crap where he played, Our so called 4 star blue chips could not even get touch Bethune or Dukes Qbs...he is a must along with AQM

We probably won't know anything about Bond until the first week of August. That's when most of the CC semesters end. UM admission for the Fall is probably around that time along with the beginning of football camp. It's going to be close... If he gets in, unfortunately his play book is going to be limited to start.

Unless you are privy to additional footage of Bond beyond his Beastly HL film, or some other info that would somehow dilute the eye-popping stats the kid put up in JUCO I really don't understand how you can make a statement like this..

I've had just about enough of the yearly difficulty in getting JUCO kids credits properly transferred to our "not-nearly-as-strong-academically-as-fancy-ourselves-as" school.

Not 1775, but the issue is actually fit. What I saw Bond do really well, I openly wonder if our system will allow him to do. In some systems, I can see his downhill, aggressive nature (along with that athleticism) being used well. In our system, I wonder if he has the size to do some of the things we've seen asked of even edge guys.

Key with JUCO guys is how they fit in and how quickly they can learn and adapt. Seems to me we've had very few JUCO guys make a significant, instant impact

I think you should watch Bond's tape again and remember this is not some HS kid who needs to put on weight and mature. This is a grown man who played last year like he was Lawrence Taylor. Yeah, I said it. I compared an unknown JUCO linebacker to one of the greatest of all time but watch his tape again and try not to smile ear to ear.

Bond will have a huge impact for us at our biggest position of weakness.

Agree 100% on D. Bond dude....Preach!!!!

bond is aggressive. he is the kid of kid coach d and golden say "get to the qb" and he will find a way. he is like a doberman pincher. Problem is how the **** do
you have to go juco and still cant get grades.

If Devonte Bond doesn't make it in, we have to rely on Kelvin Cain, and/or Tyriq McCord to fill those voids.

But I really want to see Devonte Bond coming off the edge!!

To add to what Lu said, do you think we are going to simply let him pin his ears back and rush the QB? If we do, then we will have changed what we've done over the last couple of years. Maybe it's just me, but I see Bond as a one trick pony in a system that isn't best suited for his trick. In addition, I'm skeptical as to if he's going to be able to simply blow by people like he did in JUCO, and I'm curious as to his true physical measurements. I guess time will tell.

Both Golden and Coach D have used the phrase "Players, then plays" in reference to the abilities/talent level of the players on our roster dictating, to some extent, what our coaches feel comfortable running both schematically and play by play. Isn't it plausible that Bond and his skill set (along with some of the other players like AQM that we've recently added) may now give Coach D the ability to incorporate schemes and plays that he was unable to run before because we've lacked the talent to run them up until this point?

Do you really believe that they will take a guy like Bond with his explosion and quickness, a kid with 17 sacks last year, and drop him into coverage on passing downs? Even if Bond doesn't "blow by people like he did in JUCO" it's obvious to me from watching his tape that, physically, he can do things by way of rushing the QB that nobody on our roster up to this point has been capable of. I think it's probably obvious to our coaching staff as well and I'm confident that they'll use him accordingly...

Coley isn't a better prospect than Burns and the NFL executives will think the same.
