Desperation

I reserve judgement until the bowl game. That is the next step….go to bowl game and, regardless of opponent, LOOK THE PART. If we do that, it would be a Great Leap Forward.
We haven’t looked the part since week 4. That’s why we were left out of the playoffs with only 2 losses by a combined 9 points.

Less of a Mario thing at this point. He is who he is - light bulb isn’t going to magically go off. He’ll say his buzzwords, yada yada yet status quo will ensue.

Waiting for “we’ll make a full assessment of where we are at, as we continuously evaluate how to improve.”

“We need to teach discipline and physicality” yet one of most penalized teams.

He is over his skis. Ceiling is lower than the skirt on a bang bus girl
At least next year I would expect to get less 15 yard personal fouls bc Jacoby will be gone thank god

We got kicked in the nuts just like Florida State did last year. We got ***t. I won't hate on conference winners...good for them. But these at-large teams have resumes with the same criticism.

The "dying conference" was the most poignant thing you said.

Texas' best win is over 8-4 Texas A&M and lost to the same team twice...the first time definitively.
Indiana's best win is over 7-5 Michigan.
Penn State's best win is over 9-3 Illinois (MiAmI's BeSt WiN iS oVeR 9-wIn Do0k derp)
Alabama has 3 losses, one by three scores to Oklahoma

Miami gets left out after 2 losses to bowl teams by a total of 9 points, both games came down to last possession.

**** this.

How many times in the history of the ACC would we have missed the Conference Championship Game finishing 10-2?
Quite a lot actually. 6-2 in conference play would have had us missed out on the ACCCG a number of times.

Until we consistently beat the GTs, Syracuses, and UNCs of the world were going to on the outside looking in with fingers crossed that somehow we make it in with a tiebreaker or something like that.

It’s all perspective. If I didn’t come to this website, I would have no clue how many babies we have in our fan base. You put one foot in front of the other and eventually you are running. Complaining about how cold it is outside doesn’t help anyone. Just makes the person *****ing feel better about themselves.

I will not be depressed this off season. We just went 10-2. We had the #1 offense in the country. Coach has lots of flaws, but he does work on fixing them. I’m sure improving the defense will be a priority this offseason. In hindsight, we probably should have paid JHH whatever he wanted.

I personally like the trajectory of the program. I think Mario has completely revamped the LOS. This allows us to be competitive in all games no matter what situation will arise.
This is the key for me. Coach has done a great job with the OL. If you have a very good OL your offense should be good. I liked what I saw from Bell this year, and his potential is through the roof. Hoping to see a similar transformation on the DL. We've certainly recruited talented players there.

If you are 90% of the Miami fan base you can not be happy unless it’s 2001.

If you have an IQ above 80 you see 10 wins- maybe 11 as massive progress.

You also don’t panic about next year yet because you don’t know what the roster or coaching staff will look like. Mario moves slow in coaching changes. If you don’t know that by now you are dumb and that’s on you. At this point last year we were hoping a glorified TE would hang around for a bowl game. There was no cam ward yet.

I’ve grown so tired of the nonstop negativity in the fan base. It’s exhausting.
Up 21-0 in THE biggest game in years, and you can't hold on. That's the bottom line on this team.

Mario is toast. Once the fanbase understands that the easier it will be to comprehend that he needs the best roster in cfb to be an actual national threat…. Which he will never Accumulate the talent to do.

Serious question. Why did it take ya’ll 3 years to get here? If you were a fan of college football you knew this is what you were getting. A lot of posters who watch more than Miami laid it out. People gave this man excuse after excuse for his career. 8-9 wins with the chance to play for it all is what you should expect with the occasional special year

The end of the season and our “close” on signing day has left this fan base in utter shambles. Add in the fact that we seem trapped in a dying conference….and wow…the sky seems to be falling.

And yes, blah blah blah — we went 10-2. Well, it sure as **** doesn’t feel that way. Were the most depressed fan base in Florida right now, even though we had the best season and are state champs.

Florida State gave their fan base hope by making substantial staff changes. Florida is riding the Lagway hype train. What the **** are we excited about?

Mario is getting paid a lot of money. He needs to figure out how to generate some momentum. Things are only going to get worse at noon when it’s announced officially we’re playing in some third-tier bowl game that no one gives a **** about.

Whether it’s portal additions or staff changes, Mario need to give this fan base a reason to believe again, or it’s going to be the most depressing off season since before 2015 when Golden was a dead man walking.
I wish I could argue with most that.

The saddest part is all of the Semenholes coming out of their 2 win shambles to try and join in our misery. I’ve been swatting those ******* like flies all week.

You can go back and look at my post history. I was never a Mario guy. I supported him after he got hired, but I wasn’t pounding the table for him to get the job.

Look I’m not liking the direction of the program either but it isn’t from lack of trying from Mario in recruiting or making coaching changes. His problems are as gameday coach in which not fixing the defense nor providing systemic tweaks cost us two games. These problems stick out every year since Mario became HC in which once there is a loss more losses snowball due to teams exposing our flaws in which his teams fail to adjust.

This post wasn’t a “why hasn’t Mario done anything yet” complaint. It was more just highlighting the importance of this off season. If we don’t make major moves in the portal and the staff changes are lackluster, then we’re screwed.

Not quite sure how that’s controversial at this point.
This

The two most important decisions Mario has to make,
1 DC
2 QB

Every thing else at this point is just noise. Spend the money and pray he gets these two choices right. That's it.

We missed the playoffs and a conference championship birth with the best offense in the country and an easy schedule. If we couldn’t do it this year, when do we do it?

You don’t have Ward or XR7 next year. We lose a lot. I don’t understand how people think everything is fine and dandy.
How is it we still have this narrative of an easy schedule.

Clemson had a ******* easy schedule. Our conference opponents were 6 games above 500. Theirs was 14 below. If we all won out they would have been left out of the ACCCG.

GT "almost" beat UGA in their own building. Syracuse had the number 1 passing offense in the country. VT played Bama killer vandy to the brink on the road. Duke had an elite defense. Our schedule wasn't murderers row but it wasn't some g5 or second tier p2 schedule like Texas and Indiana played.

We were a flawed Team and we lost two tight ones on the road late in the season to some good football teams. The ACC isn't getting credit for being a good conference nationally for non football related reasons. Dont buy into the bull****.

Those ******* in the SEC and B1G aren't any different from the teams in the ACC this season. Even ******* Oregon can and will get got before it's all over.

when you have a bye week, and nothing has changed, either you are stubborn, or clueless.
SMU offense was sputtering at the beginning of the year, and they switch QB's. The original starter was the previous year starter, that sent a signal to the rest of the team.

This is a shallow dive. We went 10-2 due to Lady Luck and Cam Ward. Thats it! It’s not a trajectory. It doesn’t mean we will now go 11-1 next year. It’s a false metric. Can we please stop pretending it’s because we built a strong foundation.

Ask yourself what our record would be without Cam and a few lucky bounces, 7-5?
