The end of the season and our “close” on signing day has left this fan base in utter shambles. Add in the fact that we seem trapped in a dying conference….and wow…the sky seems to be falling.

And yes, blah blah blah — we went 10-2. Well, it sure as **** doesn’t feel that way. Were the most depressed fan base in Florida right now, even though we had the best season and are state champs.

Florida State gave their fan base hope by making substantial staff changes. Florida is riding the Lagway hype train. What the **** are we excited about?

Mario is getting paid a lot of money. He needs to figure out how to generate some momentum. Things are only going to get worse at noon when it’s announced officially we’re playing in some third-tier bowl game that no one gives a **** about.

Whether it’s portal additions or staff changes, Mario need to give this fan base a reason to believe again, or it’s going to be the most depressing off season since before 2015 when Golden was a dead man walking.

Less of a Mario thing at this point. He is who he is - light bulb isn’t going to magically go off. He’ll say his buzzwords, yada yada yet status quo will ensue.

Waiting for “we’ll make a full assessment of where we are at, as we continuously evaluate how to improve.”

“We need to teach discipline and physicality” yet one of most penalized teams.

He is over his skis. Ceiling is lower than the skirt on a bang bus girl

It’s all perspective. If I didn’t come to this website, I would have no clue how many babies we have in our fan base. You put one foot in front of the other and eventually you are running. Complaining about how cold it is outside doesn’t help anyone. Just makes the person *****ing feel better about themselves.

I will not be depressed this off season. We just went 10-2. We had the #1 offense in the country. Coach has lots of flaws, but he does work on fixing them. I’m sure improving the defense will be a priority this offseason. In hindsight, we probably should have paid JHH whatever he wanted.

I personally like the trajectory of the program. I think Mario has completely revamped the LOS. This allows us to be competitive in all games no matter what situation will arise.

I come here for the entertainment value.

We missed the playoffs and a conference championship birth with the best offense in the country and an easy schedule. If we couldn’t do it this year, when do we do it?

You don’t have Ward or XR7 next year. We lose a lot. I don’t understand how people think everything is fine and dandy.

If you are 90% of the Miami fan base you can not be happy unless it’s 2001.

If you have an IQ above 80 you see 10 wins- maybe 11 as massive progress.

You also don’t panic about next year yet because you don’t know what the roster or coaching staff will look like. Mario moves slow in coaching changes. If you don’t know that by now you are dumb and that’s on you. At this point last year we were hoping a glorified TE would hang around for a bowl game. There was no cam ward yet.

I’ve grown so tired of the nonstop negativity in the fan base. It’s exhausting.

This post wasn’t a “why hasn’t Mario done anything yet” complaint. It was more just highlighting the importance of this off season. If we don’t make major moves in the portal and the staff changes are lackluster, then we’re screwed.

Not quite sure how that’s controversial at this point.

How many times in the history of the ACC would we have missed the Conference Championship Game finishing 10-2?

The crazy thing is, since we joined the ACC, all of our best seasons outside of 2017 have coincided with circumstances that have kept us out.

We won the coastal one year under Golden and we self-imposed a bowl ban on ourselves.

In 2020, we would have been in if it wasn’t for the elimination of divisions and the addition of Notre Dame.

This year we would have been in under the old format with divisions. It’s crazy how bad our luck is.

Way more than you think. You have to go back a couple years to get to a game where a 2 ACC loss team made the title game. That was UNC who beat us. Pitt a couple years before that as well. Let’s not act like going 6-2 in the ACC is some great accomplishment.

At this point, I liken this season to the 2013 season after the Champs Sports Bowl after Golden, who was looking for his 10th win, got throttled by Louisville. The board was similar to how it is now. Some were basically telling others to be quiet and how stupid they were because Golden went from 6 wins, to 7 wins to 9 wins for a whopping 22-15 record over three years (sound familiar?) and that there was "obvious progress." Others highlighted that Stephen Morris, Phillip Dorsett and other key Contributors would be gone and that with such a weak 2013 schedule (which had an early season win over an overrated Florida squad...sound familiar?), the time to make a true run was then and that the truth about the record was a lie. Then, the 2014 season happened and Miami went 6-7. Like I said, this is a hamster wheel. In the words of Battlestar Galactica, this has all happened before and it will happen again. If you study history, in particular modern Miami Hurricanes History, you know how this story eventually ends.

PS: Golden was also a "good recruiter" and had top 15 classes in 2012, 2013, and 2014. That is all.

I think therein lies a major issue.

We have a guy at the helm whose only discernible advantage is talent acquisition.

But he doesn’t have the skill set to spot talent when it’s right in front of him. JHH and Elijah Roberts are better than anything he’s brought in thus far except for Barrow.

I reserve judgement until the bowl game. That is the next step….go to bowl game and, regardless of opponent, LOOK THE PART. If we do that, it would be a Great Leap Forward.

Very well said. I agree 100%

The evidence is overwhelming iykyk

I’m not superstitious necessarily, but from an analytics standpoint the numbers are insane.

I thought Cameron Ward would fulfill his destiny as the “ breaker of chains “ for us, but it looks like that’ll come upon him resurrecting the Raiders or Browns etc…
