He's had my up-most respect since he lowered the boom on the Tech dude and muffed his shoulder up. His tears were authentic and gave me chills! Deon Bush WILL be a household name when all is said and done.

There's NOTHING soft about that dude. You don't transform overnight from soft to a complete villain obsessed with blowing people up.

i saw him play his senior year and it is true that he did avoid contact, perhaps with an eye towards self-preservation in order to play at the next level. he had an offer IIRC by the end of his junior year and he was not going anywhere but the University of Miami.

Yeah very weird. You watch those one on ones where he is up against Coley and those other guys, and Bush is the most physical CB on those films. Really seemed like he enjoyed playing up in their faces.

Can't judge off a 7-on-7 alone though.

IIRC it was the general consensus in SoFla from people that actually saw him play in games that he wasn't physical.

It was the general consensus of a few morons who spread it to the internet where the warbling little parakeets, who knew nothing about Bush, turned it into internet reality. You don't go from soft to a warrior overnight like that. This dude was never soft, and, unfortunately, the warblers turned him into that before he quickly dispelled that erroneous fallacy.

Columbus runs a 4-4 where he was used as the lone safety and there was a lot of responsibility placed on him in the passing game. The 4th linebacker was really a hybrid safety used near the line in run support, which is a role he was never put in and you could never see his physical style.

Another note - He has had the shoulder issue since high school. He sat out a couple games against inferior teams just to rest it up for bigger games the next week. He still undergoes treatment on it to stay healthy, so I really hope it's not something that hurts him down the line.

I really don't know the details, but I think it's just one of those nagging injuries that you hope just goes away with time.

Deon is bigger than Jenkins... he's been putting in major work in the weight room. I look at Rayshawn as more of a coverage/ball hawk safety.

Love Carter as well, he should add some depth this year and then it could be a battle to see if he can take someone's job.

But, I do agree with DMoney, Bush does appear to be the stronger of the 2 (or at least plays the more physical brand of football). Jenkins is more of the Free Safety
