Denzel

He will end up as a 2nd rounder IMO

No way..he is not in the top 100 of tacklers in CFB...he is not a tackling machine like all you think he is...he is a good solid LB that has yet to even top 70 tackles in a season..
he has avg is his career like 7 tackles a game...he misses tackles and assignments more than he should...is a pro material absolutely but not a 2nd rounder most guys with his production and size are 3-6 rounds...

I am being selfish and want him back...to be truthful

He will go to the combine, run mid 4.5-low 4.6 weighing 240 and teams will love him. He has produced at a high level over the last 2 and a half years when healthy.

And he will put up 35+ reps on the bench, which will probably put him in the top ten strongest guys at the combine.
NFL size, strength, speed and instincts means a big, big check.

He's about to have a daughter, kinda hard to turn down money when you got a mouth to feed .

True, but do we know anything about his family or hers? Or what she does? Maybe one or both have a strong, supporting family who is willing to assist until they finish school and football. Hopefully that's the case.

Denzel's situation could play out like Jon Beasons. I was SHOCKED when he went as high as he did. Apparently, he killed it in the interviews and was beastly in workouts. I could see Denzel panning out like that. But he cant disappear these next two weekends.

Does he have a 100 tackle season yet?

He's my favorite player on defense but let's keep it real. NFL teams aren't likely to spend a 1st round pick on a 6'0" Linebacker unless he's a special talent. I'm sure there's plenty of LB's in college football who are more productive than Perryman.

Stop inflating our players.

Luke K...he is not..he is not a tackling machine he does not take games over like the kid from Mizzo...teams may fear getting killed by the guy..I want him to just make sound tackles and destroy Oleary this weekend...as for his NFL ability there are 80+ guys with more productive numbers but he is what the NFL wants now...shorter more compact physical Linebackers...I think he is rated a 3rd olb right now...if he leaves he leaves...losing 80 tackles can be replaced...when you lose 120 tackle guy that is hard to replace

If you're a 6-0 LB or below, chances are against you that you'd be a first rounder.

If you are a first, you have to be a tackling machine (vilma) or be a freak of an athlete (Ernie Simms).

Denzel is neither. I think he's a 3rd rounder now with a chance to be a 2nd.

Don't disagree, but I don't think him staying another year changes that.

He's done things the right way--come in here, busted his *** from day 1, and become a better player.

I think he's close to ready and I'd be shocked if he comes back.

I am selfish, I want him back. I will send him his draft grade, he'll be a 7th round pick but a 2nd if he comes back. Ok thank DP we'll see ya next year :)

I love this guys work ethic, skill set and I would surely hope he makes a lot of money and has a long career. Dude will be the next London Fletcher. Just always around the ball. I just hope its after one more season as a cane.

If he goes though you have to understand. I tend to agree that he does not stand to gain too much to come back. Maybe a guaranteed 2nd round grade as this yr he will probable get a 2nd-4th type of grade.

Coming back for his senior year won't help his stock IMO.

Well technically you're right b/c he could end up being a 1st round pick before the NFL draft this year imo..... the only 2 LBs that I can see getting drafted ahead of him this year is Anthony Barr and C.J. Mosley.

But if he came back it could be slightly better for him b/c those 2 LBs would be gone and Denzel Perryman could be considered the #1 LB prospect next season.

What makes you think he's a 1st rounder?

Well he has 1st round talent i think that's pretty obvious..... he's going to be the hands down strongest LB at the NFL combine, whether it's this year or the next, and he's going to be one of the fastest.

I just saw your post that asked if he's ever had a 100 tackle season yet? No

His true freshman year he finished 2nd on the team behind Spence, w/ 69 tackles.

his sophomore year an ankle injury sidelined him for 3 games, but wasnt fully healthy until the season was over, but he still finished 2nd on the team in tackles w/ 64.

Denzel Perryman is on pace for a 100 tackle season this year... he already has 52.
