Denzel

Perryman was just named 1 of 12 semi-finalists for the butkus award and he is the only acc player on the list.

I would love to see him go to the seahawks. He be a beast on that squad or even 49ers or KC

I think if he feels we have an absolute legitimate shot at a title next year (and we do) he will stay for his senior year. I guess he has a kid on the way but I still think he may stay.

He will end up as a 2nd rounder IMO

Awesome for him, sucks for us......

WOW. Be happy for the kid, he gave his blood as a Cane and stuck with the program under the circumstances of the black cloud.

WOW what? Its the right decision especially if he has a kid on the way, but it doesnt mean I cant and most Canes cant wish he would stay. Losing a talent like Perryman, especially with our LB situation, is gonna sting.

Just look at it from kids perspective and feel good for him, if that is his decision, in my view best of luck to him, this happens all the time in college sports, that is why we are building depth. Personally, I'd like him to stay and get better, I thought he missed numerous tackles Saturday that would have gotten us off the field. I love what he does done as a person and player while at the U, but if he is reaching his goal, god bless. Having to support a child is a huge responsibility assume he will move on.

I've noticed a pregnant blonde haired girl at the past couple games wearing an official DP jersey. I'm thinking he leaves. Especially if theres a baby on the way. I know many kids do it this day and age, but I couldn't imagine having a newborn baby and juggling college classes and football.

That is the case with him.

Plenty of teams need LB's..
My ravens do!
Jagaurs
Steelers
Bucs
Browns
Eagles
Giants
Redskins

Just a few teams I can think of who will need LB help next year.

Giants desperate for a LB. Selfishly I also hope he stays but he is not gonna get any better next year than he is now. He might as well get paid while healthy. 2nd round or 4th round.... irrelevant. Go PRO and earn that 2nd paycheck. If he's not healthy or will run a poor time or something, then obviously he should stay just to get his stock up but if he's in the top 4 rounds he should go.

Dont disagree with any of that, but I never said anything about not being happy for the kid or not understanding his perspective. I said it would suck for us, as fans and a team, which is 100% true. We are a better team next year if Denzel comes back, plain and simple.

****! I really think he needs one more year to really lock him in as a 2nd rounder.. Plus it would great to have him one more year.

Why isn't he going to get any better next year than he is right now?

He made a big leap in the offseason in terms of size - he now looks like an NFL player.

I think he's been consistently good this year. Another year of development under Golden though and he could be excellent - Al and his staff are honing these players.

Yes he has a child on the way, but right now he's a 4th round pick IMO. Great playing downhill, ok dropping into coverage. Improve that second part and he's a 2nd rounder.

That's a huge chunk of change. Surely the Uni can give him some support for his child?

He could leave tomorrow if he lights up Jameis and takes him out of the game. Got my nod if he does that!

We good, read Sandman 211 in this thread, your candor appreciated, but seemed to come off with a mixed message.

If he comes back he would have a better shot of being a 1st rounder. Difference in money between the 1st and 3rd round selection is substantial and definitely worth coming back for 1 more year. He is leaves to be a 3rd rounder i would be disappointed as a fan but happy for him.

lbers just aren't as valued as they used to be in the 1st round. too many busts as of late w/ fewer can't miss guys

I thinks his height alone keeps him out to of the first rounder.. GMs/NFL coaches get fascinated with potential and forget about production. Denzel isn't getting drafted in the first round at 6'0 (and I think that's being really generous).

Theres a guy named beason who's got that d playing a whole lot better recently. Beastin!

I would be shocked if he leaves early. With what this season has shown thus far, and the chance for greater things next season.
