Denzel Perryman's stats against FSU

You said he was decent...and for a kid that is playing above the level of decent, it basically means you discrediting what he has accomplished and therefore getting called out for it. Denzel is having a good season even if the rest of the defense isnt. He is heads and tails above all other players on defense, not just the LB core.

good solid player...gets lost in coverage but good runs stopper..he and other LBs here all have the same issue..no monster DTs tying up tackles and Tight ends..our Lbs can run free like years past...
 
Then why can't he play like he did vs Florida every game?

He was an animal. Hasn't played nearly as well since.

The expectations of some on this board are insane. Was he supposed to have 20tackles with 6 tfl against FSU? Perryman did his job and did it well, he's far from a liability out there.
 
I'm in the Perryman is not having a great year camp. I'm not saying he's bad, and I know he doesn't have much help, but he's not having an amazing season. A lot of his tackles are 10 yards down the field. He's not blowing plays up, he's not disrupting plays. He's not taking games over. He's not having an impact like an all-American LB should/can. He's the best LB on the roster, and one of, if not the best defensive player on the team, but I'm still a little underwhelmed with his overall play. That said, I think he would like a lot better with better LBs next to him, and with better DL in front of him.
 
DP FSU Stats: 11 Tackles (8 solo, 3 assist) 1 TFL BEAST

DP UF Stats: 13 Tackles (9 solo, 4 assist), 1 Forced Fumble.

Ok I'm gonna have to NEG you because FSU Offense is LIGHT YEARS better than the Gators offense and DP production was only off by 2 tackles. So WTF are you really talking about, or are you just riding on the emotion of that UF game and leaving the facts on the floor because they dispute your point.

Our last four opponents before FSU.

Wake Forest: 6 tackles (3, 3)
UNC: 12 tackles (8,4)
GT: 11 tackles (6,5) 1 TFL
USF: 3 tackles (1,2) 1 TFL - 2.5 qtrs played

In every game he was our leading tackler except I think USF and Wake.

You can't just look at tackles, they can be a misleading stat. You can make a tackle 6 yards down the field or 12 yards down the field. Those count as a tackle. Against UF he was making tackles 1 yard or 2 yards down the field. He was all over the field forcing the runs into other defenders. Greg Threat led the team in tackles in 2004 (I think) but his tackles all came 10-20 yards down the field as a safety. That doesn't mean he was a stud. I'm not saying DP isn't, but just "tackle" stats can be misleading.

He is doing what he can, with what he has around him (staff included). Seriously needs to come back for senior season. These young bucks are going to need this cat badly, leading that defense. Golden, has been great in a lot of aspect during his tenure. He needs to find a way to get DP to buy into next season.

I agree.

Unless he is lights out the next 5+ games, I think he should stay. He is not guaranteed to be a 1/2nd round player at this point.

DP is better suited against the old CFB and old NFL with no spreads. Now with the spreads alot of LBs get lost in the shuffle.

GTFOH Perryman is a LB, tackles are the most important stat to their position.

Perryman has never made a meaningless tackle to pad stats.

Most of his ****n tackles are SOLO.... WTF r u talking about?
 
Ray Lewis racked up 100+ tackles his 2nd to last season when he had sand in his shoes.

Tackles. Mean. Nothing.

I was really hoping he would find a way to get a clean lick on Winston in the 1st quarter.

You have no idea what you are talking about.. He makes open field tackles alot and saves our defense.. He and Howard brings passion and play hard every snap. Only 2 guys on our defense that is elite.. Gunter is close...

i though u had more football IQ then this NY smh.

it's one thing to say tackles isnt the end all be all but to say "tackles mean nothing" in a game thats centered around tackling is the dumbest thing i have seen on this site.

So the only reason DP isnt good to you is b/c he hasnt had more forced fumbles??? lol

again what are u talking about?
