Interesting that you knew what was said 1.5 years ago on CIS when you joined March 15 2024. So I guess you were banned for being a troll already and you're back under a new screen name.

Hmmmmmm
I think is pretty clear that you can read the full board without subscribing as I have been doing for years! Again, pretty sure there must be higher rated players on the OL the last two cycles. Just saying..

Our inability to recruit top HS guards for 2 years will keep us in the portal for years.

It’s clear that you’re new here lol. The staff literally has been recruiting tackles with the intent to convert some of them to guards (Cooper, Samson, McCoy, Kinsler, and potentially even Francis). A lot of the guards in high school don’t have the size and athleticism that the staff wants

I coached at a small private school years back and we played Orlando Christian Prep (OCP). They came to our house and waxed us.. Very low level of high school football competition residing in the 1M District 2. They are more known for Basketball.

Granted they went 10-2 last year with a loss to Bishop Moore and Trinity Christian Academy (TCA who lost to American Heritage and Bowles but also upset Rockledge in OT)

This kid is 100% a project but you cant teach 6'6 300. I trust Mario and Mirabal with their evaluations.

We've been taking a ton of projects these past 2 cycles, we might have to go portal next year 25 for depth
Or what if the guys from 24 actually play next year? 2 years of S&C for Frankie, Kinsler, the kid from Baltimore. Gotta hit on one maybe 2. Then you have Francis is possibly pancake as your bookends. I’ll wait till the season ends before writing off kids who got here in 24.

Its my opinion we should take one to two every class regardless.

OL -DL is where i would hit the portal EVERY YEAR. Grown men being able to supplement and play should have 2-4 spots available between ol and dl yearly.
Sorry, hardly would you find an elite OL or DL (especially DL) in the portal. If they are good schools never let them go

Most OL are projects. Whether they are 5 or 3 stars. Samson was a 5 star, Cooper was a 3 star. Its all about physical ability first and foremost then knowing what to do. It takes a while. When we start having issues with our OL on the field u can start complaining about who we are recruiting. Until then, its the same summer time whining we been having since Cristobal showed up.

It was a full life and death battle crying over WRs last cycle. And no matter what reason you put forward they kept on and on. Talking about no WRs want to play for Cristobal because of bro style. Blah blah blah. All summer. Oh yeah and they were doing similar with the DT recruiting. These man at multiple spots know what have shown they know what OL is about.

We sure are going after a lot of the under the radar OL these last two cycles. All of them are absolutely massive though, so it's obvious that Mario and Alex have a type.

It continues to crack me up how bothered few of you are with respect to O line recruiting. And for the people crying about last years lineman Bell was wanted by the entire SEC. The days of signing 4 and 5 star lineman every single year are over. We have 8 lineman who will be drafted and not all of them were 4 or 5 stars. Make a drink take a puff and relax.

Like Markell Bell? Plazz didn’t play in the All American game? We may be going after lineman THIS cycle so far that look like they need time to grow. But I can’t agree here. Not yet.

I like Bell, but that’s false. He chose us over the MS schools and Auburn.

8 that will be drafted huh? You must be saying some guys that haven’t played 1 snap of CFB will be drafted. Bold statement but you do you and hope you’re right.

Notre Dame, UGA, O$U, LSU, Bama must didn’t get the memo about the days of signing blue chip OL every year being over. They have signed multiple every cycle since 2022. Those were just off top of my head, I’m sure those aren’t the only schools either.

I’m not the one who will bi*ch all day about the lack of OL recruiting firepower before the actual OL play in the fall is a mess, but when you all make blatant false statements like the Bell and the blue chip OL signees statements, I will speak up.

They are there every freaking year.

We have been hitting on them since Manny Diaz lol

Schools have no **** choice. How can you say this coming off of us grabbing who we grabbed this cycle and fsu taking our starting dt.

fsu BEST DL CAME FROM WESTERN MICHIGAN AND alBANY DO U THINKT HOSE SCHOOLS HAD A CHOICE?.

I think our goal should be two 5star OTs every 3 years. I wouldn't expect (or honestly think it's a good NIL investment) to get a 5 star guard if there even is one. Centers are rarely above even low/mid 4 stars.

To me, that should be our average target rate. So if we expect to take about 11 OLineman in a 3 year span, 2 should be 5 stars. So 16-20% 5 star rate should be the goal imo.

So far under Mario we have signed 11 OLineman, 2 of which were 5 stars. And that includes the class Mario had a month to recruit. Not including that we are 2/9. I don't expect us to get a 5 star this class, and probably think we sign another 4. That'd put us at 2/13. That means next class we need to get a 5star OT with a class size of like 3-4, and we are still on track imo. Plus it just makes sense cause Mauigoa is probably leaving after yr 3. Okunlola we will have to see, but Bell could step up and getting an elite OT next yr sits for a yr then moved into starting job.

Now there's certainly an argument about wanting more blue chip mid to high 4star guys instead of high 3 star to low 4 star guys... But honestly as long as they have the size and athleticism, id trust our Coaches ability to develop and view that as more important. We are getting the right body types, and that's half the battle. With the portal I'm not worried about us having to fill 1 hole per year if we needed to.

That’s their strategy but we have morons talking about firepower lol 3 stars blah blah blah. Kinsler McCoy and Cooper should shut people up. But it won’t.
