I think our goal should be two 5star OTs every 3 years. I wouldn't expect (or honestly think it's a good NIL investment) to get a 5 star guard if there even is one. Centers are rarely above even low/mid 4 stars.
To me, that should be our average target rate. So if we expect to take about 11 OLineman in a 3 year span, 2 should be 5 stars. So 16-20% 5 star rate should be the goal imo.
So far under Mario we have signed 11 OLineman, 2 of which were 5 stars. And that includes the class Mario had a month to recruit. Not including that we are 2/9. I don't expect us to get a 5 star this class, and probably think we sign another 4. That'd put us at 2/13. That means next class we need to get a 5star OT with a class size of like 3-4, and we are still on track imo. Plus it just makes sense cause Mauigoa is probably leaving after yr 3. Okunlola we will have to see, but Bell could step up and getting an elite OT next yr sits for a yr then moved into starting job.
Now there's certainly an argument about wanting more blue chip mid to high 4star guys instead of high 3 star to low 4 star guys... But honestly as long as they have the size and athleticism, id trust our Coaches ability to develop and view that as more important. We are getting the right body types, and that's half the battle. With the portal I'm not worried about us having to fill 1 hole per year if we needed to.
