Give the guy a break. There isn’t much to do in Kansas

And this is why you are a dishonest poster.

I never...NEVER...said he was "allowed to hire his own staff". He was allowed to bring a position coach.

Unlike what you and some other bull****ting porsters said, these coordinator jobs, and the ability to bring some of your own staff, have never been all-or nothing.

Yes, we have dopey posters who hold out the false myth of "Mario should just let the new DC hire the whole defensive staff". That is not going to happen.

At the same time, we have dishonest posters such as yourself who act like coordinators are never allowed to hire staffers ever. Which is also untrue.

It's a negotiation. Banks wanted to bring someone that Mario didn't want, and Mario wanted to keep someone that Banks didn't want. While it's sad that the negotiation fell apart over two individual staff hires/retention, it is wrong to sit here and criticize a DC candidate for wanting to bring one (or even two) of his staff along with him. That kind of stuff is very common.
You know this information how in regards to Banks? Funny just today on dmoney's podcast they said according to sources the only guy mention in the media that was seriously being considered was the G-tech DC who decided to stay there. Second of course I know coordinators bring in a position coach and maybe I analyst hence how we ended up with Chevis

You know this information about Banks how? Funny on dmoney's podcast they said according to their sources the only name being floated around that we seriously went after was the Georgia tech DC. Second of course I know most coaches want to bring in a position coach (chevis jackson)and maybe a couple analysts. If you go back a couple pages you'll clearly see i stated that. I'm talking in reference to people who believe Mario is a crazy man because he won't let a coordinator hire his own staff to which i said thats pretty much the way its done everywhere

Maybe we are waiting for Muschamp to finish coaching.

Robert Muschamp, Will’s nephew, is on staff with the Chargers. Maybe we can bring both.

Ok, I’m done.

And look, I know one of the stipulations was Willy Martinez. I get it, I think he flat out stinks. I’m not saying Banks was the savior, although he was a solid candidate imo.

But this doesn’t apply to merely Banks. This happened last go around, and this happened Year 1 when he hired Steele after hiring assistants. We called it an All-Star staff when it was merely an accumulation of washed and disinterested individuals with no cohesion.

Last year, again no cohesion. What’s the definition of insanity? Doing the same thing over and over, but expecting a different result. And no one knows insanity quite like Miami Hurricanes fans after the better part of two decades.

If you’re given (pretty much) all the money you need to make an attention-grabbing hire on that side of the ball, why would you implement roadblocks? Why self-inflict complications?

It just doesn’t make sense to me no matter how you spin it, and makes me question if quite honestly, he knows what he’s doing.
Lol so it doesn't make any sense belut your saying the person he wanted to bring in was a bad coach lol. Make it make sense.

**** ain't black or white. If the DC wanted to bring in Corey Raymond as DB coach there weren't be a holdup lol. But when it's over a guy you (and others from what I recall when previously discussing Banks) literally just described as a bum, yeah that's a perfectly valid justification for not following through on that hire.

Ngl this is all I hear when you talk now, it’s gotten so bad man 😂😂

The mistake is not allowing your DC to pick his own staff.

Carry on, meng.

I'd get more specific than that. On average, a new coordinator will bring in 1 - maybe 2 - guys (not an entire staff).. If DNich was indeed the dealbreaker b/c he's a great recruiter, are we really going to pass on a qualified guy in order to keep our LBC? Seems real shortsighted.

Pass bengals defense was horrendous the last two years
That has more to do with losing Jessie Bates, having mid corners and only Trey Hendrickson as a reliable pass rusher.

The bigger issue is that he’s seemingly struggled to develop young DBs and simplify the defense for them, and the pros have much less restrictions on practice time and offseason work.

But he’s going to get scooped up by an NFL team anyways so no need to worry about that.
