DC Candidates

OH gotcha, so coaching doesn't count at all

which is why UGA, Ohio State, Bama all have more talented offensive personnel, but were less efficient than us

and is also why SMU has less talented players and performed better on defense than us?

did I get that right, it's because of the players and the players only?
I’m sorry, but besides the offensive line, who’s doing all this coaching up on Mario staff? It certainly ain’t nobody on defense.

You stated that we had the number one offense in multiple offensive categories, but as soon as one player left the secondhalf the offense didn’t even look like it was in the top 100 all because of one player

Where was all that offensive coaching then?

you're acting as if dawson's offense would perform like it did with emory with any QB in the country not named cam ward, which is wrong

there is a middle ground between emory Williams and cam ward

Tell your he was “unemployed” story to Maryland. Lol

I don't know which is worse. That you can't understand the context of the comment about Steele having a long break in his coaching tenure that resulted in him NOT having staff to bring with him to Miami...or that you do understand the context and are just being a ****head by not acknowledging that, while you dance around celebrating a couple of days of Steele being employed before Miami hired him.

But, sure, if you think a couple of DAYS of employment at Maryland gave Steele a whole staff that he could bring to Miami, then you stick with that moronic story.

Normally, when an offensive or defensive unit is number one in pretty much all of their categories as a unit, they don’t collapse because they lost one player.

When Cam sat out the second half …..Dawson Ran the ball exclusively that ended up being a field goal and once Iowa State realize we couldn’t throw the ball they adjusted and they stopped everything……..that were coaching DOES

Trust and believe Cam Ward hid all of our coaching flaws

option wise you're right, we might be stuck with emory unfortunately

but he's knocking dawson's coaching and acting as if the offense would be bad with anyone not named cam ward, which is just not right
Dawson and Mario vouch for Emery stating that he was a next man up, you might as well put Judd out there

If only we could somehow sim a year of Dawson coaching offense at miami with a tougher schedule and without ward and see what the results would be. Let's give him a semi competent brain dead QB and a true freshman version of emory. Let's remove martinez from the team and replace with avg backs. Then remove arroyo due to injury just for giggles. What do you guys think. That offense is probably ranked what 90? 100? With Dawson's ****** coaching and scheme

are they going to publicly say that they aren't the next man up when those are the qb's on the roster?

are they supposed to say "we don't have any good qb's and we're going to the portal?"

I'd also say that I can't think of another high level P4 team to hire 4 coordinators in a couple years WITHOUT them bringing their guy(s) to be on the staff as position coaches. Correct me if I'm wrong but I don't believe Steele, Gattis, Dawson or Guidry got hired along an on-field staff member they wanted to bring along.
B/c Mario values recruiters first and foremost.

I get there may be some situations where hiring an position coach first makes sense (ex: Mirabel) and when a new Coordinator comes in, it makes sense that he may keep some/several of the positions coaches, but what Mario did when he was first hired - hiring almost (actually?) all of the position coaches before either of the coordinators...

No need for the repeated name calling and the I’m smart than you nonsense. It sounds crotchety and unbecoming. Just be more succinct with word choices and accepting of other perspectives. Here’s to a joyful New Year.

Nobody is calling you any names, stop your crying. To act like you're so smart because Steele was going through his HR training at Maryland for a couple of days IS actually acting like a ****head. Maybe you are a ****head and maybe you aren't, but you chose how to behave in that situation.

Regardless of how "crotchety" I might sound, this is what happens when someone makes a valid point about Steele not being a DC with a staff to poach from, while another person (you) pretends that a couple of days of work out of the preceding two years is not, effectively, unemployment.

"Succinct". Sure. Whatever you say. I said Steele was unemployed, you're the one who jumped out of the bushes to start a fight with "well, technically, Steele had provided his I-9 form to Payroll and the University of Maryland had entered his personal data into ADP".

Succinct...do you ever look in the mirror?

Those still shilling for him at this point are like the 2014 Golden Slurpers. A certain poster whose old nickname rhymes with “joke” was tormented on here for years for staying on the golden train past the point of normalcy.
