Hartline’s title is literally CO-OC. The next question is why did they give him that title and pay him as much money as they did ? Also Chip Kelly is the exception , not the rule. Which is the go to by Cis.
I don't care what his title is he isn't the offensive coordinator and the biggest needs at DC are scheme, development and talent ID. If he can also recruit well, awesome.

Yeah....I think the best DC in college football would be a good fit lol

Funny thing is not that long ago Knowles was bouncing around Ivy League, Western Michigan and a couple of stints with Cutcliffe at Ole Miss and later at Duke, with our guys beating his defense on a few occasions. So imagine if we would have hired him as DC pre-2021. Having elite talent helps.

Now that we've landed the QB, can you give us any bread crumbs on the DC?

2022 Arizona’s defense was ******. Like literally the worst in the country. But his second year there, they played great. 30th in total defense. 21 ppg. 239 passing yards per game. 118 rushing yards per game. They did commit a lot of penalties on defense and middle of the road at forcing turnovers (55th). They gave up 30 points or more in four games but two of them went to OT.

But they did play some prolific offenses in ‘23

Offense ranked:

Washington 7th (gave up 31)
USC 3rd (gave up 43 but in 3 OT
UCLA 8th (gave up 10)
Utah 11th (gave up 18)
Oregon St 32nd (gave up 24)
Their defense was ****** this year when he wasnt there too.
