We've had enough recruiters who can't coach. If he can coach/teach, then Mario will bring in the talent. We gotta get our guys coached up. So sick of these other schools, with less talent, having more effective D's. Between Mario's abilities and the Portal, let's get Lake, or someone like him, and finally have some discipline and intelligent play on that side of the ball.

I had no idea he was so good. 5th in the nation with lower star athletes. They have to be disciplined and use fundamentals. Yeah, let's have him coach up these Canes. Seems like he could get it done. Between him and Lake, let's land the plane and get these kids ready for ND.

This is a good point. I am guessing the hope is his HC experience and his defensive background will compensate for the lack of play-calling, but Mario can't F this up and take that chance, IMO.

Do you have a DC in mind? For me, it has to be someone who has proven to have P4 success.

•Rodney Gardner from UTenn. Not a DC, but has been a DL coach for yrs producing draft pick after draft pick. SEC guy, & an excellent recruiter.

•Corey Heatherman. Now this is a wild card. Dude is a former QB turned DC, & we saw him first hand in last yrs bowl vs. Rutgers. He was the...

Got one bonafide stud in Perich. Kid is a baller. No telling what he could do with a unit filled with blue chipper players.
