We already tried a guy whose claim to fame was beating ND.Nick Benedetto. Northern Illinois DC.
Don't know anything about him other than NIU led the nation in total defense against winning FBS teams, and held ND in check. Wouldn't be stupid expensive.
I'm just wondering if we will have the defensive staff in place before 2025 kick off? Any insiders help would be much appreciated.
What’s his connection to Mario? This is definitely one of the names I’d watch
Don’t think there is one .What’s his connection to Mario?
Just seems weird that he’s one of the main targets.Don’t think there is one .
Byron Brown and Pete Golding in play. Both co dc’s at ole miss, and there’s a connect a dot to both who are each very good.Don’t think there is one .
@LeedsCane sneaking in with an agree reaction to a @Cribby post should have our attention. This is definitely one of the names I’d watch
Why ?Just seems weird that he’s one of the main targets.
Brown is an alumn of Ole Miss. Good coach though.Byron Brown and Pete Golding in play. Both co dc’s at ole miss, and there’s a connect a dot to both who are each very good.
Banks is my #1 choice FWIW.This is definitely one of the names I’d watch
Still better than GuidryMy sources say we will hire defensive staff from a temp company.
Lol how funny is it that UTenn fans have a higher opinion of our HC than many posters on CIS do lol.Tim Banks a potential candidate for Miami DC
Banks listed as an option and sources tell Nakos he would "listen"www.volnation.com
Tennessee fans' thread on Banks...
And Mario as well... Surprised by some of their comments.Lol how funny is it that UTenn fans have a higher opinion of our HC than many posters on CIS do lol.
Because Mario has a track record of going after guys who he’s crossed paths with at some point. Why ?
1. There’s mutual interestBecause Mario has a track record of going after guys who he’s crossed paths with at some point.
Why would this guy leave Tennessee? And why would Heupel just let him go?
I don’t know anything about this guy, but I have alarm bells going off in my brain.
Jan 31 contract up1. There’s mutual interest
2. He’s not happy there. I’m pretty sure his contract is up or ending.
Right. And I could be wrong about this — I readily admit that, but this smells like another Gattis situation to me.1. There’s mutual interest

Gattis had very little to do with input . Yes he called plays but the brains behind the outfit was Weiss and Moore so he was in his feels. UT had one of the best defenses I’ve ever seen there this year. They won on defense and running the ball.Right. And I could be wrong about this — I readily admit that, but this smells like another Gattis situation to me.
Gattis “wasn’t happy,” either.
We “stole” him from Michigan. Come to find out, they let him go for good reason.
It’s always weird to see a coach who, on paper, has had success; and yet, he makes a lateral move to go somewhere else.
Maybe I’m an idiot. But something seems off here. I thought it was @JayCane20 who said he wasn’t sure about him.
Regardless, I appreciate you answering.
