The makeover of Miami's secondary continues, as starting safety Jaden Harris will be entering the transfer portal.

The 6', 195-pound redshirt sophomore from Atlanta had a rough season for Miami, grading at 56.6 on PFF with 15 missed tackles (25.9%) and a 57.2 coverage grade. Harris was originally recruited to Miami by Manny Diaz and Travaris Robinson as a CB, but switched to safety upon Defensive Coordinator Lance Guidry's arrival.

Both Harris and Guidry will be looking for new homes after their struggles in 2024.

For his career, Harris has made 47 tackles with 5 TFLs, 1.5 sacks and 1 INT. He was ACC Defensive Back of the Week after his performance against Florida

For once he took the right angle!

Great kid. Hate it didn’t workout.

Still think the kid has the size, speed, and athleticism to play corner somewhere like Georgia State. No idea how he ended up at safety to begin with.
Dude couldn’t cover at safety and you wanted him to on islands where the matchup is obvious from the jump…

Offenses were trying to pick on him and Kiko to get easy catches/big plays

Needs to buckle down and graduate. Plenty of honorable career choices after college.

I didn’t want him there. I don’t want him anywhere.

He would have had a better chance at corner, where coverage technique is entirely different than at safety.

He can’t cover when his eyes are all over the place and he’s basically guessing and going through the motions of what he’s supposed to be doing

I try to never be mad at a kid who got an offer and took it but couldn’t cut it. The blame for trotting this guy out there is not on him, it is on our over rated as a recruiter coach that had three high school classes and six portal windows and couldn’t field something better.

Shame on the people ****ting on the player. You are a trash person and feed the perception of our trash fan base.

He is going to play for somebody.

But he was not good here. At all. Didn't know what he was doing back there a lot (maybe he'd blame the coaches). Also says a lot about the backups that this guy was out there playing. I saw 15 out there on Saturday and he was just as bad. We should overhaul safety quickly.

Mario evaluated him last winter and spring and thought he was good enough to start at safety. Not going to the portal for a starter was malpractice. Good luck to Jaden.

Pretty sure it was the defensive staff that did this evaluation. Harris wasn't good but i wish him well. Maybe a different system will help him.
