DB Coach Search

Tell me that it's not possible that we are only going to hire a DB coach. Tell me not to worry because we plan on hiring at least 2 more defensive coaches in addition to the aforementioned DB coach!

It’s more about people saying it’s already a done deal. Which obviously isn’t the case if he’s still recruiting for USC

Yeah this is what I don’t get. You can only still have 11 total recruiting off campus so you need real recruiters on staff who are proven.

The DB's he's recruited & coached throughout his career have pretty much all sucked.

Aazaar Abdul-Rahim is a very good recruiter but an average Coach.

Nick Monroe just flat out stinks.

He's been hyped by our fanbase for years because he recruited a bunch of SF 3-stars, but if people actually do their homework, they'll see none of his DB recruits amounted to anything.

Actually, the best recruit he ever landed was Oronde Gadsden II, which I guess is really good if we're planning on converting TE's to CB.

Would yall expect just 1 DB coach? I would actually be kinda surprised if we didn't get 2 DB coaches I think. I mean I guess unless like Rumph gets a promotion and is expected to contribute on the field again or something.

I'd also still expect to hire another DLine coach too...

Schools with money can hire both. Old heads can coach & teach and the DVD types can spend more time on the road recruiting. Geared toward larger budgets IMO

Any of them could coach the entire secondary. Having said that I think we should hire 2 DB coaches. One for CBs and one for Safeties. Then hire a LB coach. Hetherman can always reinforce the things he wants and believes to be most important and in this way it would be similar to the dynamic the OL has with Cristobal and Mirabal. I also believe it would be smart to have one of the secondary coaches spend time with the LBs in order for the LBs to have a better understanding of our coverage principles thus getting the defense on the same page. Finally I would also hire a DT coach to help coach Taylor and also because it makes the coaching more focused and specialized.
