DAY 3 PRACTICE THREAD

Thomas & Wyche working with 1st team

Love to hear that about Thomas, but I don't take much stock into these first few practices and who is running 1's or 2's. I think coaches are looking to mix and match and see what the best combination of players fit well together.

Once the scrimmages start, that's when the 1's and 2's are important. Same goes for the QB situation, although I can't help but get giddy when I hear Kaaya running with the 1's.

There are elderly people who have lived lives full of regret that complain less than people around here

and complain about MEANINGLESS **** at that

There are elderly people who wish like **** they'd have complained more when they could see siht going sideways.

Three 7 on 7 snaps for Olsen, three incomplete passes including a bat down from Jermaine Grace

If Olsen's really competing, as Golden said yesterday, I don't see it. Passes are slow and off-target. Has flashed nothing so far.
I know practices just started but this is no bueno

This is the same guy who made Gray's screen seem like McGahee against FSU in 2002. I'm not buying what Porter is selling.

Gray's screen notwithstanding...I buy what he's saying about Olsen. He just doesn't impress me at all. Kid has major accuracy issues.

Chad told the staff that he does not want to be more than 260. he seen what they did to chick, he not dumb.

Weight isn't the reason Chickillo isn't a quick-twitch rush end. His best qualities has always been his relentlessness and strength to set the edge. Chad Thomas has Chickillo's size, BUT the guy has a much quicker first-step off the line and is much more athletic coming off the edge.

i'm not crowning the dude yet like a lot of you guys, but there are 3 things that stand out from that 6 second clip. one, he sells the play action play better than Stemo did in 4 years here, he looks off the defense with a quick look to the left and then he throws the ball sharply with accuracy and with proper pace. he sure looks the part in those 6 seconds.

Love the look left, "not there", dump it off to the back...

2 things:

1) He's obviously put an extraordinary amount of time in with the playbook
2) His eyes and mind work fast from the front to the back and that was even evident in High School

Chick unfortunately is the victim of this ****** coaching staff.

Anyone with half a brain knows this kid's strength is his motor and power. He should have been bulked up to the 290-300 range and converted to a D Tackle A LONG TIME AGO.

Now...it's borderline too late (at least for his time here). Make no mistake this kid has been miscast since day 1. I use to have the same argument about Ray Ray Armstrong with several on this site....he should have been a linebacker from day 1.

Would not surprise me at all if Chick gets to the league (maybe undrafted unfortunately) then bulks up , moves to DT, and actually turns out to be a decent pro.
