He really liked his visit, the coaches, and how he would fit in
His coach thiks Miami is the biggest threat
Rutgets has a chance only if they hire a HC in his opinion
He wants to know if certain coaches will remain on the staff
He talked about Miami alot at his banquet last night

I'm hearing Mario Cristobal might be the next head coach. If true, Rutgers lands a very good coach and Darius might stick.

This would normally be my take, but the absense of a coaching staff has got to mean something, yes? Who knows?


Is it late nite on Tuesday yet??? (for us west coast guys, all we have to do is survive til late nite on Tuesday, then by the time we wake up on Wednesday, there will be recruits a-signin'- all along the eastern seaboard. :)
 
He probably likes Miami but wants to stay home...Cristobal is a good enough coach to keep him.

However, lots of the Jersey kids have verbal'd elsewhere. Yuri Wright to Colorado...Devin Fuller to UCLA. So, we'll see.
 
if we are in the dead period, Cristobal may not get a chance to make a great impression on Hamilton. Can he get it done through the phone only?

He's announcing tomorrow. I wonder if that enough to time for Hamilton to sign there.

Not sure Cristobal is as heralded up in Jersey as he is down here. I have a feeling Hamilton will be like "Who?"
 
So why would Cristobal reject Pittsburgh in December but take the Rutgers job in February? The supposed reason was momma wasn't interested in leaving Florida.

From the FB board on Canestime? Or the rumor in the Yahoo story mentioning that the only one to interview was the RU assistant? OK
 
Well its official, Cristobal is the coach. Now I'd like to know how the hiring of a coach at the last minute can keep the kid, especially when he doesn't know anything about him, and can't reach out to the kid. JMO, but our chances just went waaaaaaay up.
 
Canes fans know first hand how information/misinformation works in coaching searches. Can't assume anything until a coach is at the podium.

I love that Mario is going to Rutgers. It's exactly the kind of place he needs to be. He'll be able to expand his recruiting base as well as his coaching network. He's prepping for the UM job down the road...after Golden wins his 2 NCs.
 
I would also say that his very first phone call, if somehow allowed, would be to this kid. He's the headliner.
