Danny Dillard off the team

Managing non producers out and caring about the people in the organization are not mutually exclusive.

Anyone who has managed for any length of time would confirm.

Sometimes someone moving on to a different situation that fits them is a win win.

The Don is like Jack Welsh....constantly managing the bottom 10% out of the organization.

Corporations do it. Why shouldn't football teams?

Some coaches operate like that but Al Golden actually cares about all of his players and sees them as more then a potential open scholarship on the roster.

Why do you all want Al Golden to be like that anyway???.... its the complete opposite of who he is.

Miami hasnt even won anything yet but you all want him to be some cutthroat Head Coach like Nick Saban, smh i dont get it.

Yeah, who would want to emulate a coach who has averaged 12 wins a year for the last 5 years? You look for guys who can compete for playing time constantly. If a kid doesn't prove that he can compete here, he probably should look for opportunities elsewhere.

To ppl who think like you, being able to "compete here" means be a star player if not you dont want him.... Most of the guys that have left have competed here, you think Jalen Grimble wasnt pushing the guys in front of him to stay consistent and get better?? i mean what are you talking about, clueless.

Al Golden isnt Nick Saban and you dont have to act like Nick Saban to win, so get off the Bama bandwagon ...... if recruits say that he always tells it like it is and cares about his players, you think it helps w/ team chemistry and future recruiting to all of a sudden do a complete 180 and start being a heartless **** b/c a guy isnt good enough to start???

If a player is not in the 2 deep, he is still pushing guys who are in the 2 deep.... but i dont care anymore, i'm tired of having to say the same thing to the clueless.

So you want Golden to win big at Miami but want him to keep dead weight around? I always want Golden to be upgrading the roster. If you aren't Miami material then kick rocks. Have the preferred walk-ons pushing a full roster of 85 studs. Goldens roster management is incredible.

zone is going full ****** as usual

to be the best, you need guys at every level of the depth chart that have the potential to be impact guys.

Dillard clearly was not. in fact, IF we were in a position where he had to play meaningful minutes, we would be ****ed.

Good luck to him.

If worse came to worse, we could just move Corn or RL3 over to RB but I don't see that happening anyway.

Al Golden sending a message to players/recruits that scholarships are 1 year contract with 3-4 year renewable options, not a 4 or 5 year contract.

i'm just saying the "dead weight" whoever they were have been gone a long time ago. As far as that having a full roster of 85 studs comment...... teams arent made like NCAA 2014, you cant just have a fantasy team of nothing but 4 and 5 star recruits from top to bottom. Al Golden said that when he 1st got here that he doesnt even recruit like that anyway and has shown that he doesnt.

Al Golden isnt kicking players off the team, why would he do that if he recruited them... he coached at Temple he knows that most players arent Patrick Peterson, Duke Johnson, and Stacy Coley, they need time to develop.

Danny Dillard was just a redshirt freshman, who knows what he is going to look like as a redshirt Senior. Thats how Al Golden and Butch Davis thinks when they go out and recruit a not so highly rated player. Danny Dillard probably just wanted to leave on his own and if he did get kicked off i am 100% sure that was b/c of an off-field issue.

It's one thing to talk about doing this, and it's another thing completely to actually follow through with it. It's pretty refreshing.

lol you are so embarrassingly stupid that its laughable.... Everybody has to be Duke Johnson huh?? So you think Danny Dillard fooled the staff when they recruited him b/c they assumed he was the next coming of Adrian Peterson....you are embarrassing smh.

"uh uh if he had to play meaningful minutes".... he wouldnt have to play dumbass, he wasnt going to play at all this year. There was enough depth in front of him where he couldve still continued to develop.

If Al Golden actually thought like the idiot you are Miami would never have a veteran team at all..... every freshman that doesnt look like an all american would get kicked off the team as soon as he is given the scholarship. smh stupid.

Obviously there is still dead weight because Grimble and Dillard were just shown the door. Just because a player is no longer on the team doesn't mean that Golden didn't handle it with class. I'm sure he sits down with them and tells them they are going to be a career backup. He then probably tells them he'll make a phone call to a lesser program where they will actually play football.

You claim not everybody is going to be a Duke Johnson. I know it's been awhile and you were probably 10 years old but Miami had Edge, Portis, McGahee, Davenport, Gore and company come through the program in the span of 5 years. This is Miami baby! Sink or swim. Golden will not be happy until there is a roster of 85 studs and I love it. Golden just keeps proving everyday that he is the right man for this job.

Jalen Grimble wasnt shown the door..... why would he be "shown the door" but Corey King and Earl Moore are still on the roster, Grimble was ahead of those 2, and DT depth is still an issue? That doesnt add up

Al Golden wanted Grimble to be apart of this team b/c he was going to be in the rotation.... he was disappointed that Grimble wanted to leave. Al Golden doesnt kick guys off the team, based on lack of on field performance.

Why is David Perry still on the team, why is Tyrone Cornelius still on the team he hasnt done **** yet.

Why is Jawand Blue on the team, he was redshirted and hasnt done anything yet as a redshirt freshman?? Al Golden develops players thats what he does, he's not going to get rid of a redshirt freshman.... who would get rid of a redshirt freshman b/c the conclusion is you arent good enough at that point?

Also no college including Miami has had a backfield w/ the talent you listed before or after that 5 year span, its the exception not the rule.... Jarred Payton, Damien Berry, Mike James are all RBs that played at their highest level and made an impact their SENIOR year. Miami wouldnt have had a running back to carry the load if they told Jarred Payton as a freshman that you arent good enough 3 years before...... Nobody does that.

Most of those RBs you mentioned had to sit, develop, and wait for their opportunity, they all werent considered ALL time great RBs their freshman year.

Best of luck to the kid. I wasn't a huge fan of his tape but I'm sure he'll be a nice back for another school.

Love us cutting the fat from the roster. Helps recruiting, more reps in practice for the freshman and starters. Less is more in a lot of ways. You always want depth but a guy having a jersey on and being listed at that position doesn't make him a player. If we had a situation where duke, OT, Dallas, and Gus were banged up, I'd rather give snaps to Corn Elder or Rashawn Scott or something than to Dillard anyways. Was never going to contribute, so do you waste 4 years hoping the kid ends up being an almost competent backup?

Nobody bats 1000. I've quite liked Golden's scouting for the most part.

Not to be lost in the midst of this circular argument you fellas are having, is that Golden had to get the numbers down to accommodate for whatever scholarship reductions the NCAA is going to hit us with in the very near future.

Best of luck to Dillard, **** shame it didn't work out here, but we have bigger problems to consider than the fate of the 5th string RB.

But noo noo he was only a redshirt freshman!! We're idiots for thinking he wont amount to anything.... I lol at the porsters who attacked all the posters who said that are running backs arent' ****...LOL that boy Dillard is garbage and was garbage. and to be honest Crawford aint that much better..We have nothing absolutely nothing behind Duke...Ill wait for the tucker, corn elder response..

Please show me the proof that Grimble was ahead Moore or King. Until then what you're saying is absurd. Why is Perry still on the team? Why is Tyrone Cornelius still on the team? Why is Jawand Blue still on the team? Maybe because the coaches deal with the players every day and no more than you do? Oh wait... you know who's a stud and who's not, I forgot. It's funny the way you label the players as if you actually know more than everybody else.

Miami will be loaded again at every position. That's the ultimate goal for Golden and Miami is perfectly capable of attaining that goal again. Miami had a 25 year history of dominating because of loaded rosters due to competent coaching. This idea that it can't happen anymore or is an exception not the rule is BS. Bama is proof...

It certainly looks very thin behind Duke. Edwards is definitely going to play early and often- I don't feel comfortable with Clements' injury and Crawford is small. One more ding at this position would devastate us.

I know you are slow but you are being the hypocrite that you are.... i know who's a "stud" and who's not??? are you serious. You are the ones screaming that everybody that has left the team are getting kicked off b/c they arent good???? this guy is hilarious.

So now David Perry and Tyrone Cornelius are "studs"??stupid gon stupid...... this roster isnt loaded w/ "studs" dumbass wtf are you talking about. You are living in lalaland.

And it's a fact that Jalen Grimble was ahead of Corey King and Earl Moore dumbass he's been ahead of them since last year.... especially Earl Moore who was behind Corey King.

This guy is living in a fantasy world where he thinks T. Cornelius all of a sudden is a "stud" now b/c he hasnt been kicked off the team.... **** you stupid. You dont have to be stud's to be on the team dumbass. Larry Hope isnt on the depth chart as a redshirt freshman either oh i guess he's a stud though, ***n stupid.

I dont care what yall thinks he's going to amount too.... I know for a fact that Al Golden didnt recruit Danny Dillard to be the next Willis McGahee. slow smh.

Dillard could very well be garbage but how can you tell based on the fact that he was redshirted last year???

Miami does need more elite depth at runnning back..... everybody knows that. But Al Golden is recruiting guys for a reason.... not to just have a scholarship for a year then get shown the door the next. smh

So Miami has nothing behind Duke.... so if you arent elite you cant make an impact at all. lol wow well that explains why Damien Berry "sucked" his Senior year.
