DAN SILEO HAS BEEN FIRED!

Anyway, the guy was a broken record. Same rant every time you tuned in. It got old. If the station had any brains, they'd hire his "brother from another mother" Dan Stubbs for some real Canes talk. He was 5-10 minutes worth listening to on that show.

I don't know about you but I wish they kept Michael Irvin

You have got to be ****ting me

He was worse than Sileo. His voice and speaking patterns are horrific on the radio. He is bad on TV but at least he is gestures are funny to watch

Only way the title to the thread would have been better was if it read: DAN SILEO HAS BEEN MURDERED.

lol screaming at his 11 year old is pretty bad and uncalled for. shes got nothing nothing to do w her idiot father. the other stuff is bad but its all built up frustration by his ex-listeners. im glad hes gone and the way the other hosts on wqam would make fun of what he said, i knew it wouldnt be long before he got canned. he was giving the station too much negative feedback and eventually people just stopped listening. i mean they were actually talking about how sileo wouldnt even greet anyone on his way in or out of the station.

King "Small Ding A Ling" Bean tweeted earlier that it was unfair Sileo got fired because "Canes fans will try and get you fired just for saying something they dont like". lol yeah because its never justified. Like Sileos non factual angry bull**** or Beans 10 felonies.

So hiring a guy to be the voice of UM athletic discussions who happens to be a guy who every single Canes fan hates didnt turn out so well for WIOD??? Well I cannot imagine why.

lol now hes going off on his former employer on twitter. hes a mess. ya sileo when you complain and bash every sports team in the city, people will hate you. When the heat released their harlem shake video, he questioned if they were serious about basketball. guy is a moron and thank god hes finally gone. judging by the thank you that sedano got during his monday show, im guessing everyone else approved.

Why not just stop the thread here ... and we never think about him again. Otherwise, you are just feeding into why he was hired to begin with.

and like that ... poof, was a fart in the wind.

Anti-Semitic remark led to firing of WQAM host Dan Sileo

The incident that precipitated the firing of WQAM-560 sports talk host Dan Sileo had to do with his on-air comment, “that’s the half Hebrew in me.”
A letter written by Anti-Defamation League (ADL) officials to WQAM management urged the station “to take disciplinary action” against Sileo because of the statement that was made, “with regard to saving money …”

The ADL is a prominent civil rights organization that combats anti-Semitism and all types of bigotry. It sent WQAM’s management the Feb. 15-dated letter — obtained by The Miami Herald — referring to “constituent complaints claiming that Mr. Sileo made the derogatory comment about Jews during his show on Jan. 30.

“This comment … is troubling as it perpetuates offensive and bigoted anti-****** stereotypes about money that have for centuries served to incite anti-Semitism and violence against the ****** community,” the letter stated.

Sileo, a former University of Miami football player, posted on his Twitter account Tuesday that his grandmother was ******, “and because my grandmom is ******..my nfl friends lose all [their] money..i said.. ‘I save [EVERY] nickel I have and that’s the hebrew.”

A person close to Sileo said of the controversial host’s remark, “That was the straw that broke the camel’s back.”

That's the pretextual reason for firing him. That allows them to make an argument that they fired him "for cause" if there's any legal beef about money due him. If he was popular and got ratings, they wouldn't have paid a bit of attention to that stupid letter from the ADL.

I recall Sedano saying he actually had good ratings for his slot...he got a ton of bad pub though, this was his second "incident" in a month. He got teh band hammer for saying creepy **** to Erin Andrews on the twitter machine a month ago or whatever, and to be fair, my assumption is, as his ratings rose, he turned up the stupidity on his commentary because that is what was drawing in listeners. Sedano doesn't seem like a dude that wants his station to get listeners for the shock value of the hosts comments, IMO. He seems like a straight sports talk kind of guy with some "guy talk" thrown in and that seems to be the direction QAM has gone with him outside of Sileo.
