2025 Dallas Wilson now wants out NLI and wants to sign with IF

my point is I know Mario's flaws. I do not think he's urban Meyer lol. there is just some stuff this board goes overboard on.
The guy took over a program that has had toxic culture for 20 years. it's different than the situations some other coaches have walked into.
That is a very small piece of the Mario pie. That is also an issue that doesn't take 4 years to correct. It's an excuse to kick the can down the road. The bigger issue is Mario has continued to fail to upgrade the roster and can not develop enough guys to step up. The supposed culture change should be reflected on the field. Instead, we have an undisciplined team that creates its own monsters.

Failed to upgrade the roster. Cam, Damien, Barrow, along with some talent he's recruited last two classes arent upgrades? we arent where we need to be but we are two plays away from 12-0.

That's not good enough. What about Porter, Clark, Harris, Powell, Kiko, Bissainthe, Baron, Richard, Hill? We are also 2 plays away from 8-4. What does that help?

i think the biggest eye opener is the lack of development/hit rate from the HS recruiting classes. its been pretty bad in comparison to what i expected from mario as a recruiter/talent evaluator. looking into his oregon classes, i guess i overrated some of the identifying aspect of his recruitiing abilities.

Some of you guys just want to complain for the sake of complaining. What exactly are the expectations for UM in year 3 under Mario? Conference championship is reasonable yes but you all seem to think reasonable is 12-0 and blowing every team out by 40. What team was able to do that this season? Miserable mofos man 😂

I mentioned Oregon because this situation is currently an Oregon-UF situation.

With the familial/agent ties Wilson has with Brown and UF, you think this surprise opt-out could have possibly gone Miami's way?

If Miami signed Wilson earlier this month, and the news today broke that the kid wanted to opt-out then I'd agree with you that this would be terrible for Miami. Today's development has nothing to do with Miami.
Any good news for UF or FSU is bad new for Miami ... especially someone that we aggressively recruited.

We'll just agree to disagree.

Understandable thought.

I believe this is only going to get worse for us and other programs though. Ultimately a lot of your guys are going to jump ship and the potential for longer development will be less and less due to the portal.

It really is the Wild West now and it needs to be tamed. Not even close to the same landscape.

well we supposedly cut ties with wayne and achaempong (misses). samson has been a bust. those are 3 of our highest rated recruits. the first transition class i def dont hold against mario (moss) because he was barely there and didnt have the time (though he recruited moss when he was at oregon so it wasnt like he didnt know him).

Yeah like I said I agree, just think there’s some silver liking in there relative to 5 or 10 years ago.

When you think about it it’s only going to get worse. Take a lot of these kids who don’t come from massive amounts of wealth, hand them hundreds of thousands or millions of dollars before accomplishing anything for those who are paying you and it’s going to be a lot more miss than hit. At least previously it was on the DL and the recipient knew it wasn’t overly robust and would run out eventually.

Those three have those physical traits you can’t teach and taking fliers on them was understandable.

How does this Dallas Wilson situation have anything to do with Miami's situation?
Because their *** chased Dallas Wilson ANDDDDDD....Vernell Brown at wr.....when.....Vernell Brown is a 2 time legacy...and dad was a uf recruiting staffer RECENTLY...Who has funnelled some Central Florida area kids to....UF.....Now has signed Wilson and funnelled him there now. lmaooo.

Luckily Mali Toney reclassified and we paid him cause.......they wasted alot of time on Vernell Brown, FFrench, and Dallas Wilson at wr.

I like our WR class alot though with Upshaw and Mali.
