Dallas moved back to DB

This move makes no sense to me.

Who are gonna be our RBs in the spring, Gus and...?

Gus Edwards becomes the first ever college running back to receive 45 carries in a spring game.

this is an acknowledgement that Dallas isn't that good at running back, and he's not. he basically had two really good games against subpar defenses in 2013.

what he did last year was awesome and helped salvage the position after duke went down but he averaged 4 yards per carry which is *decent* for the NFL but not good at all for a team with aspirations of being back in the top 10-15 in the country.

Thanks for ruining the kids career, Golden

Kid would not have seen the light of day behind Duke, Gus and Yearby. Besides, he's one of those guys that every team wants and needs: blue-collar, team-first, hard worker. His value lies in those traits.

De'andre Johnson - walk on. There is also a walk on RB from norland who is a junior. Johnson played at Iowa (as a scholarship RB) for 2 1/2 years. But yes gus is the only scholly RB.

btw al golden isn't paid to put every single kid in the best position to be a pro. he's paid to win games. those goals often overlap but sometimes they don't.

miami needed dallas at RB last year, but not in 2014. it's nice that he was cool with switching but it is what it is.

I like the move but the timing is terrible. If we would run some wildcat and let DC throw the ball, I would be against the move altogether but we're not.

With DJ and Yearby out for the spring, Edwards and Tucker are the only scholarship RBs. Williams and Olsen are going to get a ton of reps throwing the ball this spring because nobody can run.

Would not be shocked if some other players are moved to RB (i.e. RLIII or Elder), which in turn will slow their growth at their position.

His value probably lies best in the slot receiver position, as many here have argued, but whatever.

Regardless, we're thin at RB for all of Spring and we better hope Yearby and Duke come back strong from those injuries. If they sustain injuries again this year, RB is going to be a big problem.

The RB Depth chart looks a little more appealing to the 2015 recruiting crop. This is why we been throwing out RB offers left and right.
The posters above has it right, Dallas would not get many carries behind that trio.

As @mattyports reports, Dallas Crawford is at DB now. Have been told he is at safety, not nickel corner and is excited about the switch

Crawford also brings a “recklessness” to a defense that has sorely lacked that attitude. Good sign that they trust in Yearby’s recovery

Love it told everyone this would happen and got neg by so many

Kid has a future at S and likes to hit plus adds competition with Bush Jenkins Carter Hester

Yearby and Duke are going to get the carries no room for DC plus Edwards
