DAILY DEBATE: Which state/region should Miami recruit harder?

The DMV/NJ area.

We’ve always done it but it seems to have slowed. Bunch of QB talent there to snag as well.

I see a lot of Texas and the “why” behind is obvious. I just think we’re fighting too much of an uphill battle there. Too many teams are dumping money for those boys to stay home. UT is back, OU will always be there, SMU is going to be national again and they spend, TTU are going to rise and maybe start to run the Big 12, too many moving parts.

Texas- some of the best talent in the country and better coached than Florida.

DMV- A talent rich area where most prospects have little to no allegiance to any program.

True but there is so much talent there that it's worth hanging around to kick the tires on the scraps.

Texas and Louisiana. We actually are recruiting those places. Just that we had much more success in our championship years.

Texas, Georgia, Louisiana, DMV, and sprinkle in some mid west corn fed monsters

*While also of course cherry picking top talent from home base.

Quoting myself to say…….

Actually recruit every single state hard for top tier talent across the country because focusing on just 1 state, a couple states, or a region won’t give you enough diversity to battle through adversity as a team which builds team chemistry and confidence.

Not to mention the lack of diversity of athletes limiting what you can do on the field. Being pigeonholed with your playbooks on offense and defense makes you predictable and easy to game plan against.

I believe I violated the rules in both of my replies because I chose more than one team in each reply so I am bowing out with my head held high……..

Go CANES!!!!

In addition to the states mentioned, I like a focus on individual high schools nationwide:

Gorman in Vegas
Mater Dei in Orange County, CA
South Lake Carrol in Texas
St Frances, Maryland
Bergen Catholic, NJ
Corner Canyon, Utah
IMG
St Thomas Aquinas
American Heritage
Chaminade-Madonna
Miami Central
