DAILY DEBATE: What is the scariest game on Miami's schedule?

There will be one Mario "wtf" game. We will have to survive that..
Last time it was GT.
The issue with last year is Mario had his wtf game. Problem is that Tyler had his wtf game on the same day. He was pick van dyke against gt. Also against unc and nc state is just a game I’ve wiped from my memory. Also can forget to mention his “game winning drive attempt” against fspoo ends in a pick just for fun

Scariest game directly proportional to competency and influence of Miami's in-game kneeling consultant.

While UF will be the tone setter. USF is the scary one, they’re building something really good here. Not a guaranteed win by any stretch

Our season boils down to 4-5 games.

UF, VT, FSU, LOU and imo GT (i think GT improves this year from last) if GT falls off ignore this game.

Just go 3-2 and we are 10-2 with a good chance to make the ACC championship and a playoff berth.

From toughest to less difficult I would go

1. UF
2. FSU
3. VT
4. LOU
5. GT

I wish "most nervous about" was used instead of "scariest," because I am certainly not scared...but it has to be the gates W1.

Sure there is recency bias yada yada yada, but when you factor in everything (realignment, year 3 Mario, recruiting, donations/money, arguably most hated rival when they are relatively down, etc), argument can be made its one of the biggest games for program since the natty was stolen in 03. Maybe that is an overreaction especially in the 12 team playoff era because the team could still certainly win out after taking an L. It is just there for the taking and I have seen the team spiral too many times after a crushing L. Hopefully the players will not have the butterflies my soft self will have when the ball kicks...

The one thing we've learned from this coaching staff is that every game is losable.

I consider every game a trap.

However, I do think that Cam Ward is a decisive advantage that we haven't had in recent memory.

UF game sets the tone for the season. off topic but WHEN DOES FALL CAMP START?

Absolutely ZERO doubt about this, I don't give a **** what anyone says.

Sets the tone and separates what coaching staff can, despite the obvious penalties and other mistakes that usually show up in game one, can simulate the situation and prepare their squad the best.

If Miami can go into Florida in the first game and win none of the games going forward are scary to me. There's a hundred reasons why that game is the most important.
UF is a vibes game because if they lose that the mopes will be out all season long and the national media will consider the Canes a paper tiger unless they wreck the rest of the schedule, but the Canes don't need that game to win the ACC and for example a couple years ago Utah went in to the Swamp and took an L then made the Rose Bowl so I don't think that game necessarily dictates the quality of the team or the way the season will go.

Sorry…do the mopes **** all day long.

Mario needs to go into Canesville and win.

Sure, we may still have a decent season, but most of us don’t doubt his nutrition or strength and conditioning chops….after GT and many other debacles game day, he needs to show Billy Napier that he is a FUC-ING coach too…

Sorry, this is a measuring stick…there is no other way to see it.

Taking emotion out of it, OOC game 1 rivalry game in a hostile environment (against a roster that is top 25ish per Phil Steele) and with a lot of new starters is not really a good season forecast game, the same way 2000 Miami @ Washington was not a season forecast game.

It is a game fans would be very annoyed to lose though. From what I have read Mertz didn't have a lot of completions deeper than 20 yards and the Gators OL was pretty good at run-blocking, so combine that with all of Miami's talent at Edge and the Gators may opt to try a smashmouth plodding game.

I am concerned Miami will match them with their own plodding and then maybe it turns into a game where maybe a fumble can lose it @skyman .

The weird part is is that the big games don't seem as losable to me compared to the "must-win"-ones, you know?

We smacked the Aggies, we beat Clemson, we were extremely competitive against FSU with a Freshman QB and against Louisville.

But then you lose to GT and to Rutgers.
