DAILY DEBATE: What is the biggest reason for Miami’s struggles the past 20 years?

Man I don’t know but I’m Really starting to believe there is a spell, voodoo, curse… or something on this program. No LOL. Miami struggle can’t be due to evaluation because year on out, Miami has had the best roster to beat every team in the ACC. Every year!! And even if you say coaching… you’re trying to say in the last 20 years all SIX coaches got it wrong with one of the best, if not the best roster in the conference??? All six coaches??? 😂

I watch games and without fail I can almost call when the play where Miami will shoot themselves on the foot. This program needs a serious Chaplin to come wash away the bad juju.
Nah we had alot of MID/****** QBs. Terrible Evaluations there on the most important position. Finally hit big on Ward and it was only for one year We still havent recruited a stud/elite HS QB going on 25-30 years prolly longer its sad.

Root Cause Analysis. Ask Why 5 times...
Why was the program so bad past 20 years? The other teams scored more than we did.
Why did the other team score more than we did? Miami lacked talent, discipline, toughness, cohesiveness and all the other adjectives.
Why did our team lack talent, discipline and toughness? Because the coaching and talent acquisition was dog****.
Why was coaching and talent acquisition dog****? Because the AD/BOT hired terrible coaches who mirrored their own ineptness and nepotism.
Why were AD/BOT hires so poor? Because the University hasn't been serious about football for 20 years

Invention of internet, just like dating.. Used to be a local market for the best talent. Now the entire country is open to the best talent...

Admin/BoT that didn't prioritize football -->
Lack of sufficient financial investment in the program -->
Terrible AD hires -->
Terrible coaching hires -->
Widening talent disparity (especially at QB, CB, and WR)

1. Why have we sucked? Because of coaching and personnel
2. Why are caoching and personnel bad? Because we hired the wrong coaches.
3. Why did we hire the wrong coaches? Because we lacked the funds and drive for success that leads to good hires.
4. Why did we lack the funds and drive for success. Because we had an AD and school president(s) who didn't put in the effort and emphasis.
5. Why did we have an AD and school president who didn't put in the effort and emphasis? Because the BOT didn't make that a priority.

The five "why"s says it's the BOT's fault.
Should have just locked the tread after this post.

Talent acquisition but in key spots. OL, DL but mostly QB. We’ve had ONE drafted in almost 25 years and the one this year we didn’t even recruit. Our trenches have been up and down. But overall, we missed on too many “can’t miss” players. All the best players from South Florida didn’t play for Miami. We are talking about hall of famers, all pros, etc

Money, money, money, money, Money, got to have it. No need in reading a post in this thread, everything listed falls under Money. Money gets it all.
How did Saban become the supposed, greatest coach ever, money. Call them what you want, Saban had 40 more coaches than Miami. Literally!
Then why did we dominate the 80’s?

The biggest issue with the football program has been the university’s lack of financial support. For years, Shalala kept the budget tight, nickel and dimed, while the rest of college football poured money into facilities, coaching, and recruiting. That put the program at a big disadvantage.

A lot of people forget that the university did not fully commit until Mario Cristobal pushed for it.
