DAILY DEBATE: What is a successful season to you?

fortunately for him he is arguably the best roster in the ACC at his disposal this year with many key players coming back and some really big transfers coming in as well and dlan Miami was among my top 10 position units at
running back receiving core offensive line and defensive line and they added a potential star at quarterback in cam Ward as well so by all accounts on this is one of the best teams in the ACC

right now absolutely and look they it's a loaded roster and all the flash right now is On Cam Ward and Damen Martinez and even Xavier Restrepo but I'm gonna tell you what if they're going to win an ACC title the reason is going to be this deep deep defensive line you had them number three on your top 10 position unit rankings I think they have enough depth where you could argue them up to number one

um but man I I think Miami is a really good shot of of beating all those teams and and getting to the college football playoff as well so I'm picking the Miami Hurricanes to make the playoff

I'm not asking for much these days.
1) make it to ACC Championship game. Don't get blown out.
2) Make it to a decent bowl game. Preferably a bowl game in a warm environment. Don't get blown out.
3) how about winning a fckn bowl?

All this talk about winning national championships....lol

10+ wins and pass the eye-test for talented recruits that want to be sure the Canes are heading in the right direction.

He threw for 4,648 yards and 47 TDs as a redshirt freshman at Incarnate Word. He threw for 3,735 yards and 25 TDs in his second and final season at Washington State. He declared for the NFL draft but didn't quite find what he was looking for and elected for one last season in college. Now, not only does Ward take on one of the more high-pressure jobs in college football -- it always feels like Miami's just a big-time quarterback away from a surge, and it never quite feels like the quarterback comes through -- but he also does so as the preseason ACC player of the year.

Ward is a patented spread-offense playmaker. He can typically get the ball out of his hands pretty quickly and accurately, with a high completion rate (67% last season) and lots of nibbles (11.6 yards per completion), but he's also an all-or-nothing scrambler who sometimes makes big plays with his feet and sometimes runs himself into sacks. He'll play for an offensive coordinator (Shannon Dawson) with plenty of spread experience, but his play will also be run through the Mario Cristobal filter of "Take no risks you don't have to take, and run the ball if you can run." (Here's your reminder that Justin Herbert threw the ball barely 30 times per game in two seasons with Cristobal. Ward threw more than 40 times per game last season at Wazzu.)

You can make an easy case for both a Ward and Miami breakout campaign this year. Ward and Oregon State transfer Damien Martinez will form one of the most high-upside backfields in the sport, defensive tackle Rueben Bain Jr. is a star and Miami plays only one projected top-30 team on the road. If Ward lives up to his billing (and if he's allowed to), the Hurricanes could make their own game-changing leap. But this is a rake we've stepped on before.

I’m with Fraggle, with Emory doesn’t hurt his shoulder Cam rides pine

I agree with Joel Klatt that 10-2 is a disappointment but I will take 10-2 if they are getting blowouts and looking how they are supposed to look and just happen to get bad bounces a couple times.

If the10-2 is a smoke and mirrors, small margin of victory over mid teams, Rosier pass bouncing off a helmet to Langham to save us from Ls type 10-2 then that is a bad sign.
I am not ready to give a verdict yet but...

I said we would be 7-5.

Vegas had us at 8.5 wins, correct?

No one knew Cam would be this good. So even a 10 win season is about right.

We are playing with house money at this point, win the last 2 games - that’s a fine good season.

However, our schedule stinks. We would get waxed in the SEC or Big 10.

Not sure about the B10 but we would be 7-5 if we were in the SEC. Pains me to say so after hating on the $EC for the last 25 yrs.

There’s no reason why this team cannot win the next two games. In the past , Canes teams have folded. This season will be a success with a ACC Championship…. There is too much talent at The []__[]. Someone has to step up and be a leader. You can’t tell me that GA Tech has better athletes than Miami. The defense has to step up …. cam has to settle down back there. One game at a time. Teams in the past have let us all down … let’s hope history does not repeat itself. And Terry Porter can still go DIAF!!! 😂😂😂
