Does Cam McCormick have a role on the 2024 offense? What is it?

Yes, his role should be on the sideline, handing cups of water to players not on social security as they come off the field after scoring TDs. He can also clap when we make a good play.

I think many here and mixing up their hopes and wishes with a practical acknowledgement of the circumstances.

Mario wants to run the ball and he still might be the best blocking option amongst the group. And with Elijah's availability historically a question, it would not surprise me if Cam got more snaps than we all wish.

What if I told you running the ball gets easier when you don't know it's coming

I'm not disagreeing with you at all. I just think we need to calibrate our expectations because our head coach is not an offensive innovator and sometimes appears hellbent on pushing a run-dominant, physical philosophy just to prove a point. I hope some of that was caused by TVD's struggles but Mario is who he is and doesn't seem to be changing too much.

Seriously, the guy adds value on STs and red zone. He can block obviously. Maybe Ward can hit him on screen play or two to keep LBers honest.

If McCormick is playing meaningful snaps then that means we either had major injuries at TE or we have completely eliminated the TE position from the passing game.

Last year really was a head scratcher with the lack of use at TEs. It really needs to change this year.

What if I told you, that after all these years of innovation and schemes, you still will have to be able to run down the ball “down their throats” when they know its coming? Thats how you finish teams.

Not saying Cam is integral and should be heavily involved. But in all my vast years of watching this game, the simple fact of the matter is, at some point a winning team has to be able to control the LOS and run the ball successfully even when teams know its coming.

And you don’t have to blow them off the line of scrimmage either, but be in position and hold your ground while taking on a defender.

If the answer is yes, something seriously went wrong. There's WAY too much talent, depth, and speed to be trotting out this old fart who can't catch and isn't even that good of a blocker.
