Daemon Hill 2020 CB offered

I mean again what the **** do you people want? We have Jaiden Francois, the best in Sofla...Trying like **** to hold onto him.

Should we go kidnap E.Ricks? Hold Tennison at gunpoint to bring him back? You wanna go drop 200k off on Ethan Pouncey's porch?
I mean I guess Pough coulda been next in line, so I'd listen to an arguement there, I know Gogeta loves him. No idea how his senior year is going. But seems like all the big schools backed off. He's committed to Rutgers.

I like the Clarke and Hodges combo.

His Junior Film

He was on an UV to Miami last week for the CMU game, he's a Palmetto kid not Miami Palmetto (St. Petersburg/Tampa).

His best offers are K State, Cincinnati & Iowa St, he was actually a CMU lean initially.

Very good tackler on film, but imho there's several other CB's locally I would've offered before him.

Idk if he's a take IMO, but that's just my opinion as of now.

I like this offer a lot, especially after watching his film. The kid plays with his head on fire. There's no lack of effort with him. Does he have a verified 40 time posted? I suspect he's a speedster considering the way he was hawking dudes down. There were a few times where the runner had an angle on him and he ate them down like it was nothing. I agree with what @Liberty City El said, he's a super physical tackler. I was really impressed from that aspect of his game.

I think he could shine at the safety position considering his style of play. At worst, he's a high end special-teamer for us that could also get rotational snaps on the defense.

FWIW, Ivins said it is his understanding that this kid cannot commit right now - there's a few things that have to happen for him to get the green light. Staff probably wants to watch more, maybe this is insurance down the road, etc....

Right, the typical offer...See about 20 other in same situation.

I like the kid though, don't mind him as a #3 at all...Or a kid that can play both positions. Physical.

This is supposed to be Diaz’s bump year🤦‍♂️

Van Dyke top 15 qb
Chaney top 5-6 rb
Fleming top 15 wr (one of fastest, big play threats in nation)
Redding top 10 wr
Rivers top 15 OL
Roberts top 15 DL
C.Williams top 10 DE
Francois best DB in dade...

Just gotta finish

I'd put that top 8 up against all but maybe 5-6 classes...And why should we recruit like any better than somewhere in the 6-10 range when we haven't won in 15 years?

If you guys expected this "bump" to be a Bama type class, god bless ya

I like the offer. Sounds like today it is not a committable offer so I don’t see how anyone gets mad about this.

It’s also weird that people look at the Miami depth chart and roster and think recruiting is the problem to focus on. Today the biggest team problem player-wise is the guys who left early (Boulware), the guys who transferred (Mahoney, Cager, Ezzard), and the guys who never developed . There is not a lot of developed junior and senior talent leading the team today. This forces young undeveloped talent (Clark, Nelson, Campbell) to go out and get **** kicked by sub par competition.

Miami needs to start redshirting more guys and developing more guys over a longer timeline. The incredibly insane and frankly stupid idea that every year freshmen will come in, dominate, start, and save the team has to end. Taking 2-3 developmental secondary players this class when Miami has Francois and Washington coming in and will return all their current secondary roster (outside of Knowles) isn’t a terrible idea.

So essentiall

Ther is no such thing as a bump year. Unless you are an elite recruiter/ coach.

Diaz has shown he can’t recruit worth a ****. It’s evident by our depth defensively.
The only place we lack depth on defence is at LB and that's due to injury.

I'm not saying Diaz is an ace recruiter (he doesn't have to be), but his unit was never the problem.

Doesn't have any official testing numbers, but to the eye test looks in the 4.6 range for speed which doesn't really matter to me overall when it comes to Corners because technique & footwork supersede raw speed, although being fast is always a plus.

This offer to me is clearly a late insurance offer just to see if he improves down the line, he's definitely not a take right now.

There's several other CB's we haven't offered that I would've offered before him but I don't have a problem with an initial offer in order to continue to evaluate.

With losing 2 DB's to transfer we definitely could use another in this class & my hope is that we're still pushing for Brian George at CB.

This kid Daemon Hill is a terrific tackler that I like, his coverage skills (just from what I seen on film) are not that good but that's just limited tape. He plays both CB & FS at Palmetto & I actually like him more at Safety than as a pure corner.

I don't ultimately see him as ending up as a take in this class tbh, but if he were I'd like him at Safety or Striker due to his size & physicality. Need to see more on his footwork & his ability to cover down the field though.
