Daemon Hill 2020 CB offered

Maybe we can beat out Buffalo for a plan B kid. This coaching staff can’t coach and it definitely can’t recruit/evaluate.

I like Keshawn Washington, he’s been making plays this fall and will fill out in a college strength and conditioning program. Legit 6’3 180 right now. Riggins has played pretty well this season. Honestly just looking at the commit list it’s not that many bad takes when you think about it. Yeah we have Quite a bit of 3 stars but most of them aren’t bad takes imo

Just looking at the 3 stars

1I’m higher than most on Antonio smith,

-Everyone is high on restrepo and his film backs that up all the way. Like him more as a db now since the season started

Hodges is even better than adverstised, like his game a lot

-Quentin Williams looks like a freak physically at dend and is an elite athlete

-jury is still out on Chris Washington but he has an excellent frame. Recruiting olineman is an inexact science, just because they are rated highly doesn’t mean they will be goos(see some of the past lineman we have gotten) and just because they are rated low doesn’t mean they will be bad.It’s the weirdest position to recruit.

-Flagg has been impressive in the game I saw Vs Katy texas

- tirek Austin cave-great athlete at linebacker and I’ve been high on him.

- daran branch, I like His length at db and it wouldn’t shock me if he’s a stud.

- Marcus Clarke is an athlete and playmaker, not sure if he fits best at cb but he can play.

- aj Mathis, good get imo with great size.

That’s not even getting to the top half of the class with guys like

Don chaney
Marcus Fleming
Jaiden Francois
Chantz Williams
Jalen rivers
Willie moise(who can play guard or dt at a high level)
Michael Redding
Tyler van dyke
Elijah Roberts
Etc

This cb offer is fishy to me because I really want to see what happens with juco cb Brian George before we pursuit guys like that... with that being said it is a weak db class outside of a few names in Florida

I've long questioned Ivins whether George is even a take (I think he is good enough and needed, just never know with jucos and UM) OR if he's really that interested in UM or if he just really wants to take it slow. Because thinks have just been quiet too long...So either staff doesn't want him or they are sick of waiting.

I dont know about the db offer either we are pretty stacked there. We are returning the whole secondary minus knowles. Dont see the need for 3 more corners. I dont like taking Washington cause I think him and branch end up both playing striker and I like branch more so I see it as a spot that should go to the o line. And riggins to me has not been impressive I have watched all his film this year and it's not um caliber imo very average no monster plays

I don’t think either branch or Washington will play striker. They had recently stated Washington will play safety in an interview and Ivins seems to think branch can play corner so we will see

I think it's a lock that one of the db recruits end up at striker...We have 1, with another possibility of another (Huff) that look like kids that are playing there now (or at least somewhere between Finley and Frierson)...Maybe C.Alford gets a scholly, or maybe they move K.Smith (not sure he has that rangy type build, I think he has a good chance to stay at safety), but they aren't going to go a whole class without recruiting a striker, and there's not that many more defensive spots, so I think it's pretty safe to assume that a possible striker or 2, or at least they are projecting that may have versatility to fill that spot are already on board.

That’s what I was told, I’m trying to look for stats but not easy to find HS stats. I’ll say he’s a ? Coming back from injury but only time will tell

I think 3 corners is def doable, we return 5 and one will be a senior. Quite frankly we need the comp because no one has proven anything back there outside of Bandy (Blades/Ivey some promise for sure, they can at least be steady). Can get away with 2 corners too so I hear you that 3 is not a dire need...But we need competition everywhere.

I understand but I want to get as many o line man in as possible we are thin depth and talent wise there and games are won in the trenches.

Ya I hear ya...If you are asking me 6th quality OL or 3rd corner, I'd lean 6 OL (And no question if we are only talking 5th OL)...But I'm not sure it's an either/or thing. I hear you though, OL gotta be #1 right now by wide margin, followed by LBs on the need list.

Just because CMU almost beat us doesn’t mean we should try and poach their recruits. He was probably here to watch CMU, not Miami.

I’m pretty sure Manny has the star scale backwards. Or maybe he figures because our 4 stars play like 2 stars, our 2 stars will play like 4 stars.

Iowa St has been doing a ton with low rated kids...Good to see them on his offer list if the list is legit
