This big time. I think he gets bullied a bit this year and also makes some eye popping plays against slower tackles.

He shouldn’t be on the field on run downs tho.

Love this play. Shows how quickly a guy with his physical gifts can blow up it all up for an offense.
 
Moss and Nyjalik have the length and frame but are light right now. They would get bullied in most situations. They probably legit need 15-30 (higher end for Moss) pounds to be a factor this year which is definitely possible in one off season. I think Moss projects as an edge defender who stands up a lot and plays with his hand in the dirt a good bit and can even cover some TE's or backs if needed.
 
DE, rush specialist and drop into coverage type. Dude is 6'6" uses his hands well and fast. Why do cats come on here with all these variables and know more when they haven't seen seen the kid in training and on Greentree.
 
He fits what some defenses in the nfl and some colleges like Georgia and the Rams want there edges to do at times, very fluid in coverage and a long speed rusher with patience. I dont see a LB tho, i see a 3-4 olb like phillips but he’s not as explosive and powerful with a toolbox of moves yet

I'd give him til year 2. I'm not expecting any of the freshman to be major contributors next season with the exception of special teams.

Kelly is 245. Hardly the same as Moss situation..
 
I'd be very surprised if he were used as an OLB in a 4-3. He's almost certainly an EDGE. Different body type than Rousseau. Not sure if we've had a player like him around here for a bit.

Let the kid stand up and rush. When he has enough weight on him, he can put his hand down. Till then, blitz packages and flats in exotic looks.

Justin Hollins at Oregon is the parallel.

He’s more of a 3-4 OLB than a traditional 4-3 DE, but he can be developed into more of DE once he puts on more weight & strength. The tools are there, it’s just a matter of how they choose to bring him along.

Thinking this kid is a finished product as a TF is a really silly way to evaluate him.
 
Didn’t Coach Strong run a hybrid scheme at Florida? I think we may see some multiple concepts with a guy like Cyrus Moss playing OLB from a hybrid 3-4 formation.

I see him like a combo of college Barr and pro Barr. In college, Barr was a 3-4 rusher with the occasional zone responsibilities. In the pros, he had more of a pure OLB role in a 4-3.

Like you said, I don't think Moss will be a pure 4-3 OLB here. Barr was a former RB and can do more athletically. But I do think Moss can do some of those things in spurts. I'm just wary of him with his hand in the ground after watching him in the Poly game. Hopefully, his body reacts well to Feld.
